I have an L-shaped banquette, a butcher-block farmhouse table and 2 oak mission (Amish made) chairs.

They are invisible. My kitchen is far too tiny to have any. I don't even have a dishwasher for the same reason.

I have a tiny little table with 2 chairs, we never eat in the kitchen, because we have a tiny little kitchen!

My kitchen table from my previous house is a family set that is over 100 years old - a round pedestal table, dark stained oak, with high backed chairs - it now sits in my den.

We bought a new one a couple years ago. It is rectangle in shape, oak on top with the painted black big legs. Black chairs, too. I really like it. Heavy , too. We gave our old one to a neighbors grandaughter that was getting married. A Tell City table and chairs. She was thrilled to get it.

It's a small square pub table with black legs and a cherry top. Two black chairs, two black saddle stools. Love it!

Just off our kitchen is a small area where we have a 42" round wood and wrought iron counter height table and four upholstered matching chairs. In another room we have a formal dining room.

In the suburbs--we have a drop-leaf (it's square with the leaves up) kitchen table with a maple top, painted green legs, chairs match.

Country--a rectangular table--base is black iron, and HEAVY. Top is random squares and rectangles of assorted tiles in grays, maroon, browns. Chairs are black metal with gold tie-on cusions. I really bought the set for the deck. Eventually, I want to get a custom-made, retro kitchen table--the tublular legs, patterned formica top, diner-style chairs covered in vinyl.

I have a tiny kitchen and a small "dinette" room for my table and 4 chairs. Next time I re-model, I'm getting a banquette style table, benches, maybe a couple of chairs.

My kitchen table is a black granite round extension of our kitchen island. Since ours was a family of 5, we have 5 tall, backless stools around it. It all has the shape of a number 9, without the curving in the tail. The tail is the island, and the round part is the table. I love all this space for big cooking projects.

Kitchen too small, we eat in the dining room. It's a wrought iron, glass top table. Basically a patio set. I've never had a nice dining set, but that's ok.

I took over the dining area of our kitchen for my computer desk, so we have a small drop-leaf table in the Florida room where we eat our meals. If we have company, we eat in the dining area off the living room at the "big table". The big table has pale yellowish-colored legs and chairs with an oak tabletop and chair seats. I'd like a pretty glass-topped table and upholstered chairs, which would go better with my living room furniture, but that isn't going to happen soon.

My father built my table before I was born. He was probably about 20 and knew nothing about carpentry. It is made from 10 inch pine boards, He left little spaces between the boards and crumbs fall through.

A piece split off of one side and he repaired it with what are called corragated fasteners. The repair job is ugly but it is very dear to me.

Different chairs and benches have come and gone but it endures.

I have a heavy oak table and 8 chairs. The table is large but has two extensions that I can use for a big family meal...I have only used the 2nd ext a few times because it makes a bbbbbbbbig table. With one ext it will seat 8 people with room to spare and 10 if necessary. I am sure it will be here long after we die, that's how heavy it is.....

I have about a 12'wooden farm table with windsor chairs.

Oh Soxxxx! How wonderful! That's like having a piece of your dad at dinner with you every time you sit down at the table.

We had my gram's table and chairs, which was her mother's. It lasted thru the 1936 flood and was made at the Johnstown Chair Factory. It was starting to crack and break from use so I donated it to our local cultural center to be preserved as part of our local history.

We now have a pub table, cherry top and black legs with black chairs. It expands nicely and I love to prepare food at it, great height for me!

I have an antique table w/ 4 chairs that I bought years ago. It has the extension and can seat 6. Our dining room table seats 8 and isn't used very often. Neither are used often b/c we eat out so much.

We have a small kitchen with a little breakfast nook. I have an old pine trestle table and two benches that fill the whole nook. It's cozy! We usually eat at the dining room table and in the summer out on the deck.

Kitchen is small - table against living room wall, with just doorway between table and counter, including stainless double sink/cupboards: with a bit of a stretch, while seated at he table, I can reach a spoon sitting on the edge of the counter by the sink.

On the other side, the stove sits next to the living room wall, facing the table, with barely enough room to open the oven to put things in and out: I can reach things on the front burners of the stove.

The fridge sits beside the stove, with door opening away from the stove and I can reach some things in the fridge while seated at the table, with a bit of a stretch.

The door leading to the back stair is in a boxed-in corner by the wall at my back, with the wall leading out to it about 6 inches from the fridge, and the box holding it sticks out about a foot into the kitchen almost a foot beyond the front of the fridge: I can reach it from the table, as well.

We had a butcher block top table with painted white legs and matching chairs for 21 years. Not a good quality set by any means. Anyway, we were at an auction in May. On our 30th wedding anniversay as a matter of fact. I saw this table and 6 chairs and really, really liked it. Showed it to DH and he said if you like it we're getting it.

I know that answer, that means he WILL get it. I was willing to go $500. Considering we paid $400 for our cheapo white set 21 years earlier, lol. We ended up getting it for $700. Which about made me sick spending that much money.

Good news is, we looked it up online when we got home and it's worth $3,500!!! That def made me feel better about it. It will probably be the last table and chairs we ever buy. We tend to keep stuff a long time. It's kind of big for our eat-in kitchen, but that's o.k.

This is in what I call the "dining area." It's not a separate dining room, but more of an extension of the kitchen. The table is an antique library table. The chairs are from K-Mart, from back when they sold a line of Martha Stewart furniture.

I also have the breakfast nook with benches in my dinette area.Also have a formal dining room with table and chairs for 6.

We have a 50" round oak pedestal table, it has two leaves and when extended, seats eight. It was old when I bought it and I've had it for 37 years. Probably an antique by now. Four pressed back chairs that we found in someone.s barn 37 years ago also. We got all four chairs for $20.00 and I love them.

Henredon antique barn board style with leaves that tuck under each side, so you just pull them out and they kind of click into place so the table seats 10-12. The wood looks old, but is new. Chairs are leather, two end chairs are armchairs.

Mine is an 1840 farm table with drawer in the original green paint and scrubbed top. I have four antique plank bottom chairs in their original paint surrounding it.

Our breakfast room has a small buffet and a 46 X 66 (w/leaf) oval table with cream painted legs; fiddle-back painted chairs with rush seats and cushions. I bought it for fast delivery when we were moving into this house. It was made by Pennsylvania House -- before they sent manufacturing overseas. I didn't realize it was a *laminate* table top! (Dumb.) I liked the stain because it matched an antique bowl I use as a centerpiece. The cream legs match my kitchen cabinets. I'd like to find someone to make a new *wood* top for me...but who? The rest of the set is fine.

We're there for breakfast, lunch and dinner unless we have more than six. Then, it's the DR -- Baker piano finish oval set with six black chairs. It can shrink to round or easily seat eight with two leaves in, pulling two upholstered chairs from the LR.

Ed, is your kitchen chair on casters? I'm picturing you rolling around between stove, sink, etc.

Our dinette set on Maui has a clear glass-top table. Hate, hate, hate it. I'm considering making a permanent centerpiece of the Windex and a roll of Bounty.
