Ask in the computer forum, but when there are updates, there is never a notice, but it happens overnight from Mozilla. I wouldn't proceed! Go to Mozilla directly!

When it's a legitimate Firefox update it says it is a Firefox update and might say Mozilla. I would only trust those. To make sure go to the top click help, about and it will tell you the version of Firefox, you can also check there for updates. If you have yours set to automatically update you won't get notices it does it all automatically.
Where did you download the version of Firefox you have? Hopefully you did get a legit Firefox.

There is adobe air software but there's also an air software malware.

I highly recommend downloading malwarebytes, update, run full scan. It's free and very likely can remove this malware. Click link for directions, be sure to select free not trial version.

Raven, that is were I downloaded FF from, and I do have malware installed. The pop up Air thingy seems to have gone away....

Raven, and others. I'm getting hubby to install FF so he can get the no-squint add-on. (from Mozilla)

He's hesitant and didn't go further, because AVG was catching all kinds of viruses. He stopped the install and ran his malawawarebytes and caught some bugs. Normally, when we run this, it never shows anything.

Should he temporarily pause the AVG while he installs FF?

I have never had to do that at all but it has been years since I had AVG. No idea why it would detect anything in firefox though.
Is he getting it directly from the mozilla site that I linked to?
Perhaps he had something prior to the install and it was just a coincidence it showed up then? Had he updated and run malwarebytes recently before trying the download?

He runs his scans, malwarebytes, CCleaner, etc, and did them all on Monday.

Yes, he went to Mozilla. I'll have him try again.

Yes, when downloading anytime anything, go straight to their website to down load the real thing.

I just asked him, and he used Mozilla.com........not org, so NOT the real thing. He got rid of the viruses, though, thank heavens. They scans caught 52 AVG, and 2 with Malwarebytes.

We got it downloaded and he really likes the No Squint!!

I'm trying to figure how to get his favourite sites onto the bookmark bar, for easy access. FF is a little different now, instead of clicking the Star and it going in the Bookmark bar, it goes into a little suitcase. I don't know how to get it onto the bar. So far I'm c/p the address which works, but that's not the right way, I'm sure.

Right-click gives you a menu with "Bookmark this page" option.

Click and drag the url icon left of the address bar to the bookmark bar.

Yes super easy, grab and hold the favicon of the sites url and drag it onto the bookmarks toolbar.
