Baby Joey is two!!

He turned two years old on Saturday, and had a wonderful time at his birthday party.

At the party, he was involved in the serious business of pushing his bubble lawn mower when he was attacked with a water pistol. As you can see, he didn't mind!

And here he is late this afternoon, enjoying his first pontoon ride with his parents and my daughter's family. My daughter reports that he loved steering the boat and beeping the horn . . . over and over. :-)

I know, right? I felt like I had to have this rose because it’s named for “our” Jeri. I’m doubley glad that it’s such a beautiful rose! I can’t wait to see those rich yellow colors on mine, Jeri. I was amazed at how fragrant these first two blooms are, especially with how hot and dry it is. I have a feeling I’m really going to enjoy having Jeri with me every day. He is a darling. I see the child life preserver on the bench, but he should have it on. I know it's a pontoon, but you never know. Better safe than sorry.

Well I'm going to ask again - has he ever had a poor photo taken? He is adorable. Even his shrieks as he got squirted with the water pistol must have been contagious. You just can't help smiling when they get so excited.

Happy Birthday Joey! (Your Grandma is so nice to share you with us!) Keep that twinkle, and world will be yours.

Our own Giant Girl Evie was at our house yesterday with her parents. She's a month shy of 2 1/2, talking a blue streak, 37" and 34 lbs. (Is 2 1/2 when you double the height to get adult height? She's going to be taller than her brother by a couple inches!)

Honestly, I was surprised he wasn't wearing a life jacket. My family is all safety conscious, and my daughter and son-in-law spend a lot of time on the water. I wondered if he was wearing something under his shirt. He has some sort of device that keeps him afloat and upright, and I remember the bulging part is on his chest. I'll have to ask.

In any case, thanks for your nice comments, everyone!
