Every have a day(s) where you think
Comments (15)Like faerycat, my problem isn't so much "rattiness". It's sloppiness, lol. I just never seem to get around to doing the things that need to be done in spring. The weeding, mulching, transplanting, etc., that, when done early, helps lower the maintenance throughout the summer. So, since it's not done early, by this time, there are beds which I'm just getting around to, and man oh man, are they a mess! Which makes me lose motivation. Sometimes I just sit and stare at them, thinking about what needs to be done, and about what I didn't do, and how I should have done it - and there goes any time I had to actually do anything, lol! But luckily for my own sanity, I can pick out the bright spots in these messes. I can appreciate the plants I planted on purpose, lol, in amongst the tallest weeds, or I can visually separate clashing colors from plants I meant to move because they didn't go well together, etc. The way I look at it, if I didn't (and don't) have the time to organize and maintain things the way they are, I certainly don't have time to rip things out and start again! :) Dee...See MoreWhat Vitamins do you Take?
Comments (24)Anyway, Kelly - wow! Your weight loss is quite an accomplishment! What type diet did you follow? Biotin is good for your nails too isn't it? Can you tell a difference there? Tina, I first started on Weight Watchers and exercise but even though I had wonderful success I decided that I wanted to know more about the calories and nutrients I was putting into my body. I switched to using an online journal (myfooddiary.com) that gives me more detailed info including what percent of my calories are coming from fat/carbs/protein. I'm doing some serious weight lifting and need to keep my protein up to 30-35%. My total calories that I eat everyday is based on my resting metabolic rate and the calories I burn through working out. If I have a light workout day I eat fewer calories. When I'm really on top of things and meeting my daily goals I can easily lose 2.5 to 3lbs per week. Biotin is great for nails and hair as well as boosting the metabolism. I have a hypothyroid and starting taking medication a year ago and my hair fell out badly. It's still not back to the way it was but is a little thicker. Yes, the niacin reaction is immediate. I don't get the hot flash feeling or flushing (which is weird because I am very fair and flush very easily). My rash is/was a ring around my neck and slightly raised. It took a little over a week to go away....See MoreDo you wear every day jewelry?
Comments (47)I missed this first go round too. I think there is good, classic jewelry that will never go out of style. I also like stylish costume jewelry but not the stuff made to look like the "real thing", like fake diamonds, rubies, etc. I love unique necklaces. I'm talking costume jewelry for necklaces. I wear earrings most days, but not always. Most always wear my wedding ring diamond set - although there are times when I will wear a plain wide wedding band. Always wear one other ring on my right hand. I have an emerald cut 3 stone ring that I most often wear but occasionally will change it up. My dad recently gave me three rings that belonged to my mother and one is a gorgeous london blue topaz that I have worn several times. I never wear a watch and don't wear bracelets that often - other than my charm bracelet. I do like an earring on some men, but it depends on the man. And one earring only. tina...See MoreDo you wear a special necklace every day?
Comments (20)Not any one that I wear all the time. I guess I just like jewelry too much to stick with just one. But, I do have a very special ring, a silver Navajo one with a large green turquoise. DH bought it for me the day our DS was born as a remembrance of a very special day. I wore it the day his adoption was finalized. The day he started kindergarten, middle school, high school and college. I wore it to his kindergarten, high school and college graduations. I wore it the day he was inducted into the Army and to his graduation from Basic. I wore it both days that he left for Afghanistan and when picking him up at the airport when he came home on leave. I'll wear it when he comes back this time, too. Every year since we found each other, his birth mom (now a dear friend of ours) and I meet for lunch to celebrate our son's birthday in August. I've worn it to each of those special lunches. I don't wear it other days because it's so precious to me that I'm afraid I'll lose it. I plan on wearing it to his wedding some day, too. Someday I'll pass it on to him and his wife, but not for the foreseeable future. I still have a lot more "Special Son Days" that I hope to wear it to. Lynn...See Morerthummer
