Thank you, dilly. I like the polka dot, but I agree, it really doesn't work. Here is #3: Here is #4: How about #3 for the outside part of the crown, the solid pink sheet for the inside and for the topper, #4? Then #3 for curtain panels? Maybe a mix of #3 for the bed skirt and with #4 as a trim on it? And a very soft apple green on the walls? I think I need to order some samples to check the colors together.

Thanks for the votes and the cabinet info. Our main cabs came with the house; I know NOTHING about them. The lighter ones, on the island, we installed. We found it would be impossible to perfectly match the existing cabs, and our kitchen design place said to try to come close would look off, so we purposely went with a contrasting color. The island cabs are MUCH higher quality than the rest of the kitchen. Thanks for the info on the painters...I'm going to look them up. Also, for the open pendants, sorta silly question but is it weird having an exposed bulb hanging over you at the island? The only thing making me consider NOT doing those! And...while I'm at it, what shall I put over the sink? Another pendant? Flush light? Small chandy? Thanks for all the help; I am so new to this!!

justgottabeme: That is a very sweet story about your Mom. DD seems to enjoy having my attention on her room--sometimes before she'd get annoyed when I spent so much time on "decorating." What I am doing is sifting through the myriad of choices to 1-3 choices which I think are acceptable in terms of cost, color and durability and have let her make the final choice. Having this forum as a sounding board to determine the options is very helpful, but for the most part I try to let her make the choices. The JCP rug is a tad smaller than I'd like, though bac717 brought up a good point that with JCP returns are not a problem. I may actually work from the chair fabric backwards and see which fabric she chooses then choose the opposite color for the rug since we have two options. One concern I have with the dotted fabrics is that they are all 100% cotton--and perhaps not the most durable choice for the seat cushion.
