Nancy Grace and Jane Valez Mitchel

I used to like watching their programs but since the Casey Anthony I find that they just spew hatred. I also think that Casey Anthony is guilty but they just go on and on they get people up in arms about this case. Personally I think if the media had not latched onto this storey that Casey would have been tried and convicted. She is not the only one who has murdered her child. I have also found that a lot of the things the media say is mostly speculation, not all of it true but when people hear this on TV they believe it.

I am hoping that when Casey Anthony is released that she just fades away. Hopefully she will make something of her life if the media allows her to do so.

I have never seen Mitchel, and had never seen Nancy Grace before the Casey Anthony trial. I was just appalled by her behavior, whipping up emotion, assuming guilt. After the first two days, I couldn't bear to watch her, and got my news from the radio and internet.

I agree with your assessment, too.

They are both painful to watch. I don't like the fake exaggeration for the sake of grabbing an audience and getting ratings. And I don't like the loud, exaggerated talking style either.

So many books I have loved and lost myself into. I still love the classics like Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, Great Expections, Wuthering Heights, Little Women and can reread them over and over again. Jane Eyre is probably my favourite of those books and I read my Mom's hardcover from her childhood once a year. A Tree Grow in Brooklyn is another favourite. Terry Brook's Sword of Shannara Books and other series of his as well. Same for David Eddings. I like Fantasy books about wizards, dwarves, etc. I read the Hobbit and Lord of the Rings Trilogy when I was young and loved those books so much that I couldn't bring myself to watch the Lord of the Rings movies. I didn't want the movie to take away what my imagination saw in those books. My brother bought me the boxed set when we were kids and even to this day no gift he has ever given me (well the Kitchen Aid Stand Mixer comes pretty darn close) will mean as much to me. I wouldn't lend them to anyone else to read. Another book I read when I was a teenager was called Tregaryn's Daughter. I can't even remember now what it was about but I remember really enjoying it and when reading it this picture of where they lived really stuck in my mind. My friend's Mom had a picture hanging in her living room and that picture is almost identical to what I imagined in my mind. I have never looked on line but I have never been able to find that book again to reread and I really want to. Maybe it won't be as good as I remember. Another favourite book of mine was The Outsiders. I must have read that book over 100 times. I knew exactly where it was in the library. Years later that book was on my niece's schools requirerd reading list. I told her I had read that book many times and could recite every word of it to her. I wouldn't watch the movie made from that book either because it couldn't be as good as the book was. Another book was called the Pig Man that I read and reread many times. Years later it went by another name but I read it when it was called the Pig Man. I can't remember who the author was. I don't read as much as I would like because of the lighting in my house. I need to get a better lamp to read by. I miss reading and getting lost in a good book. Anne

Absolutely it is her, not a doubt in my mind. She has to be one of the most narcissistic sociopaths I have ever seen. I noticed that there was not a single comment about the loss of her child nor was there a single photograph of her within camera shot. Some grieving mother, huh? If she fell over in front of me, I would step over her and keep going.....after a good kick (accidental of course) in the ribs.

Look what Jennifer Kesse's (missing FL woman) Dad had to say- Many of you were outraged that George and Cindy Anthony will be guests on the season opener of "Dr. Phil." One comment, however, stood out: It came from Drew Kesse, the father of missing Jennifer Kesse. Jennifer was 24 when she disappeared in 2006. Orlando police believe she was abducted from her condominium near the Mall at Millenia. Drew Kesse complained that the Anthonys are "a disgrace and an insult to every missing person and their families." Kesse wrote: "Lets make this very clear, Caylee was murdered. She was never missing and should not ever be considered missing at any time during the entire ordeal. Caylee has never been the center of anything since she was killed. Everyone else in her family has, but the true victim -not." Casey Anthony, the daughter of George and Cindy Anthony, was acquitted last month of first-degree murder in the death of 2-year-old Caylee. Kesse was incensed that George and Cindy Anthony asked the "Dr. Phil" show for a contribution to their new foundation named for Caylee. And Kesse blasted Dr. Phil McGraw, who interviews George and Cindy in an episode to air Sept. 12 on WOFL-Channel 35. "Let's get one thing straight right now, Dr. Phil, you are a pimp for this garbage," Kesse wrote. "The Anthonys and this new foundation are the biggest insults to every missing person in America today. Dr. Phil, after the show airs and you make a donation to their new scam, have on real families of the missing." Kesse's message to the Anthonys: "Go away, far away, please."

I agree sheilajoyce, they are both so loud and it is all about ratings not about the truth.

I also don't like how Nancy Grace shouts down her guests, she never lets them complete a sentence before she buts in.

All of the above, plus JVM needs to do something with her hair. I don't watch her any more.

Once in a while I tune in to NG to see if there might be something new. Not the Bombshells that have already fizzled.

I do watch Dr.Drew now; never did before.

I quit watching NG when she went on a tirade about a missing child with a very young mother a couple (several) years ago. The young mother committed suicide before any of NG's accusations could be proven. After that I didn't hear anything else about that case and now I quess no one will ever know what actually happened. The woman is vitriolic and needs a muzzle. JVM is just like her.

If they were out of the picture I believe justice would have been better served.

Yes, I watch Dr. Drew now too, he is much more caring about people and he even says he wants to get to the truth.

I was clicking through channels last week and watched a little of Nancy Grace regarding Casey Anthony. I had to change the channel because her voice is so annoying and her spewing, "TOT MOM" over and over again. Can't stand Casey Anthony but dislike Nancy Grace and her loud mouth antics.

Best way to get Nancy Grace off TV is to write to the station and the advertisers. I never watch her.

I find this thread interesting in that during the whole last couple of months and during the trial people didn't seem to be bothered by either of them. Now that their own peers, meaning other journalists and commentators, are bashing them everyone jumps on the bandwagon. If the situation with NG and the young mother who committed suicide wasn't enough to get her off the air, the only thing that will is for people to not watch her. And plenty people did, and do, watch them.

They remind me of the tabloids with the exaggeration, grasping at straws, suggesting, etc.

Once another high profile case comes along Casey Anthony will just be a bad dream. Nancy and Jane will always go after a bigger and better crime and latch themselves on.

I enjoyed watching NG during the Scott Peterson trial, she wasn't over the top like she is now. I stopped watching her show 3 years ago when Kaylee went missing. Couldn't stand her yelling "TOT MOM" every 5 seconds.

JVM is over the top as well, I don't watch her either. Not sure why the need to shout at everyone. None of the male commentators seem to do that.

You do know that Nancy was a prosecutor for many years. She tried 100 cases. She won 100 cases. She doesn't perform for ratings. She is vehemently, violently anti-crime.

Her fiance was murdered 2 months before they were to be married. He is the "friend" to whom she says good night, each and every broadcast.

She returned to college and took up law solely because of that murder. That is who she is. Like it, or change the channel. Just know that during the Anthony trial, she had the highest ratings of any cable news outlet, including Fox.

I know Nancy Grace's history and I still don't care for her TV persona. She has a grating voice and a strident personality. She is anti-crime but who isn't? Personally I believe she is just as aware of her ratings as any TV host is and works to increase them. If ratings go down the show gets canceled. Her inflammatory rhetoric provokes the situation and she has made several public, grievous errors.

She doesn't seem to have any problems declaring someone is guilty before a trail even commences. She lambasted Duke and the Duke University lacrosse team in a case where a stripper falsely accused 3 players of rape. And there are quite a few other examples where she's used her show to push her own agenda. I don't watch her show but there are times when she's a guest on other programs and I catch her act there.
