Would You Like To See Nursery Pics??

Everything is not in it's 'permanent' place, but it is all there. They will have the carpet laid in the basement this week, so the office will be completely moved out of the baby's room. Baby boy is due the 7th of Sept...although I honestly think he will be a bit early. Kalie is hoping for August 23, as her birthday, her MIL's BD and Mike's niece's BD are all on the 23rd! (I told her 'good luck' with that! LOL)

The crib, the only wall with the stripes is behind the crib.

Dresser & Hutch. The bears in the wagon are Mike & Kalie's childhood teddy bears!

Kalie has had a large collection through the years of Boyd's Bears....she finally has somewhere to display most of her collection.

Kalie is pulling 100% for the name Jackson (Jack), Mike said he is waiting to meet the baby first! :)

I think that's the same crib we got Maddie....converts later into a youth bed, then a single bed?

Ken, you can download a free PowerPoint viewer at the Microsoft Download Center. I'm sure there are other freeware programs out there that will do the same thing. Cool pic of the cedar stump/roots. It's also interesting that fairly large roots from another tree can be seen in the excavation but the tree is not shown in the pictures and doesn't appear to be overhanging the site at all. Congratulations on your baby girl! I have nursery envy. We will not be moving into our new home until summer of '08 and we just had a baby girl in September--she's currently sleeping in our master suite and the only nursery furniture we have set up is a lingerie chest in the closet. Anwyay, she'll get her nursery when we move. I just wanted to compliment you on the beautiful crib bedding--it's so sweet and perfect! Have you decided on a name yet? That was the thing that kept me busy while pregnant...lol. I kept calling DH at work saying, "What about....???" Good luck and have fun! Anna

I agree with nosoccermom; for a nursery you really have to think cordless and I would be nervous with floor length curtains. We put the cordless black out cellular blinds from Home Depot in our nursery (hopefully to be occupied any day now!); they look good, they were affordable, we installed them ourselves, and they really black the room out. Your window may be too unusual a size to go with the big box generic stuff, but it's worth checking out for the price and ease of install. Nurseries are so fun and exciting, good luck!

That looks like a beautiful baby room!

I'm with Kalie, August 23 is a great day in my book too! Hunter was born in Ames, Iowa that day! LOL

Monica...yes, this turns into a double bed later...I think Kalie said.

Kat...neither of the girls' looked like this either!! Theirs were all from garage sales!

We are just north of Ames, Mike & Kalie live in Des Moines. Less than an hour and I can be there! =)

I was born in Clinton about a half hour up the river from Davenport. I moved to Omaha, in '65 and moved back to Iowa (Des Moines) as soon as I got a chance which was in '79. In just over four months I met and married my hubby. His family is all still in and around Des Moines so we visit there often. I love Des Moines and saw my all time favorite singer song writer, Dan Fogelberg, in concert in Ames back in '82.

LOL The girls NEVER had a TV in their room either! Kalie has said that he will not have control over it, she doesn't want a kid sitting in front of the TV. (yes...this Nana made a comment about a TV in the room!....it is for Kalie for now! ha)

There are some of the bears that he will be allowed to play with. They went to Build A Bear and made him his first bear. Kalie's childhood bear could be played with, but Mike's is just about used up.

I love that furniture and the whole room looks sharp.

my almost dil (she dated my ds for 3 years, sigh) named her adopted ds jackson jose...so far they use his full name, but by the time he hits hs, i bet it will be jj, lol...

love the room..he can grow into it and not have to change it for quite a while...not sure about the tv, though, lol...

Thanks Sandy. I saw the box but thought it contained a baby accessory. My new TV didn't come in a box, it was a floor model.

The room is beautiful and I like the fact that Jackson will be able to use that bed and the other furniture for many years. I know you're sooo excited!! Grandchildren add such pleasure to our lives and give us an excuse to do silly things without having to explain! Bettye/AZ

I love the room, and that crib is beautiful! I've never seen one like it...but I don't see much baby things nowadays. I know you are all anxiously awaiting baby Jackson!

Sandy, the striped wall is so neat. Is it wallpaper or did you tape and paint? That TV will come in handy for your daughter during those late night/early morning feedings. Bet you can wait to get hold of him!

The stripes are painted. Mike did ALL of it! He did such a great job on it.

Yes....the TV is for Kalie for middle of the night nursings/feedings. They have a rocking chair ordered for the room also...then it will be complete.
