Thanks sooo much yall! I do see a counselor and mental health Dr. hence the meds. You know it's bad when he tells you, "Are you SURE you're not suicidal, cause with all you have going on, I could see it happening" Nope, nope, nope, not suicidal, just depressed, and in a funk! I want it all to STOP! All the illness, and death. There's only sooo much one can take.

Jamie I think about you often. I am so sorry to hear about all that is going on around you. Please take Satine's advice about seeking support. This is a lot to get through alone.

And please come here to vent as often as you need to. You have had to deal with so much more than most of us.

Jamie, I remember when you lost your precious daughter, and I believe you when you say you will never get over that. But there is hope that the pain will drift to the edges and make space for happier times.

My one suggestion in these sad times is to remember the Serenity Prayer. I have it on a small plaque on the wall near my stove, and today I realized I was reading it for the umpteenth time. Even though I know it by heart, I still read it twice. Maybe there was a reason for that; someone in my path today would need to be reminded of those words. Now I know that it was you.

Just a suggestion: take some time out and google The Serenity Prayer and you will find information that you would have never thought about, as to the origin, etc. Good reading, and it will give you something new to think about.

and the Wisdom to know the difference;

Aw, Pookie. I hate that you're going thru all this. Big hugs, sweetie.

Jamie, you have been through the gauntlet. My sympathies to you. I know depression can be a real bear to overcome. One book my BIL shared with me advised that the best way to cope with depression is to get out and DO something. I think just making yourself take a daily walk around the neighborhood would help. Try it and see.

Of course you want to cry and cry, who wouldn't? You're feeling isolated as you bear the burden of watching all this happen and yet have no control not to mention the huge amount of fear you must feel. It's just not fair and yet these and worse things happen to so many. I think all you can do is what you're capable of on a daily basis. Seeing a counselor is key and it's okay to be very sad and angry. I'm offering prayers for you, your husband and family members. You're smart to reach out. Just hold your husbands hand and pray together. It will ease some of the burden he's hiding too. God bless you.

Oh my Jamie, what a heavy load!!! I'm so sorry to hear all this and I understand how you will always grieve about the loss of your daughter.

Oh, Jamie. Please know that I think of you and have been praying for you since your sweet daughter passed. I wish you had some little ones in your life because they are good at forcing you to smile when you don't feel like it. Keep on your doctor to switch up your meds if the current ones aren't helping--do you think a support group might help a bit? Please do keep posting so we can talk with you as much as you need/want.

Sending you hugs. One thing that no one has mentioned but does help some people, is to look to nature. Just being outside in a garden, park etc where it is quiet, looking at the flowers, plants, animals, birds does help me when I need it. Pick up some copies of Birds and Blooms, or other magazines from Remain. They have some wonderful stories, pictures that do put life in perspective. If you need some, just ask. Many of us do subscribe and will be glad to send you a few.

Well, you know, it IS Too Much! I'm so sorry.

Others have offered great advice here. Much of it boils down to remembering to continue to LIVE your life.

My mother died a long, lingering death from leukemia. I was emotionally exhausted and grieving. However...our dog still had to be walked twice a day, and his zest for the smallest things we encountered outdoors finally got through to me. LIFE was still 'out there' and 'in me'.

Take a walk. It can't hurt.

i'd be flat on the floor...you are allowed to grieve and mourn the losses..that's natural...but you also have a great reason to hang on..caring for dh and other family members...

my favorite spot to release? the shower...learned it from my dear cousin who lost her dh and then herself...she said it was the warm water that helped her release the tears...it's still my place to go, in the good times as well...
