Today is Abigail Blue's birthday...

She's three today and just finishing up a heat but they'll be noooo puppies this time...She wants nothing to do with that kind of stuff..LOL..This morning I got the look for kicking her off the bed...of course she jumped up as soon as I fluffed the last pillow...

Her nose is on overload...I went to the Doggie Gourmet...they wanted SEVENTEEN dollars for a cake...geesh human cakes are only 9.00 at Kroger...so I came home and made cupcakes...I did pick up a 3 truffles, 3 lollipups, and 3 ice cream cones (gotta share with hubster Gabe and Uncle Dunkie)..so tonight when we pick Dad up at the airport...we'll come home and celebrate her special day!!

She's been having a great time adding to her diary at Dogster...she's quite the dictator..(in more ways then one!)

Y'all are so nice to me, and you have been so nice to me for so long. I am deeply grateful. I really appreciated hearing that you have had similar experiences with loved pets and loved people. I would really love to hear more. Please write to me at jimchaney@cableone.net One of my wonderful nieces had the same suggestion of getting a new kitty, and when I arrived back at the house a few days ago, my niece, who has a doorkey, told me to close the front door quickly. I asked why, and she pointed to a doorway, where I saw this little black streak running through the den and then the connecting living room. My niece had called the "pound" in five counties to find a cat that looked like Abigail. She went 50 miles to get my kitty, who is black with white on her throat and part of her belly. I named her Esmerelda and call her "Izzy." Izzy is a nine week old darling ball of black fluff who sleeps on my chest when I am in bed, except when I turn over onto my tummy and then she sleeps on my butt. And purrs. Funny sensation, the sense of whirring in your butt. The last two days I've been studying for an exam-12 hours a day, and Iz sleeps on my tummy except when that cute black furry face looks over the top of my book at me or gnaws on the edge of the book. Iz is what the term "beautiful cat" is all about. I've been at the computer for about an hour and in that time she has managed to turn over the trash can, run through the house many times, has snuggled up to my feet, looked up many time with an "Isn't it time to play?" look, and is driving her 7 year old thirteen pound stepbrother Tupelo to distraction. Tupelo jumps up on the desk to get away from her and then sits on the scanner. He's now licking his left front paw while he stands up. Tupelo is very patient and usually gives me 5 minutes before he throws the papers off the scanner so he can lie down. Cats are hilarious. Please let me hear from you. Jim

Hi everyone, Sorry I've ebeen AWOL for awhile. Spring is always such a busy time. I've been trying to get the yard & gardens cleaned up. DH is expecting to start a new job in a couple of weeks, its suppose to pay about twice as much. He'll be driving OTR again with only one day home per week so we're trying to get stuff here taken care of beforehand (building GH, fixing stuff, etc).He gave his current job his 2 wk notice just 2 days ago and they called today letting him go (on his day off)! Now we're really hoping the new job is as good as it sounds!! I got the last of my WS potted yesterday. Out of 160+ jugs there were only about 15-20 that didn't sprout...not bad I guess for my first WS attempt. I'm waiting for my BIL to till my new gardens so I can plant stuff...alot of my potted seedlings have bloomed! Bluebonnets, Lacy Phacelia, and Nasturtiums of every color! I hope they're still blooming by the time I get them in the gardens! Kym, thanks for sending the May list in advance! At least I won't get behind on that! LOL I'm fine with recieving emails from forum members...sounds like you have an interesting game up your sleeve. Count me in! I hope all April Bday buddies are having a wonderful BDay month!!!!! Julie, like Susan said, don't worry about "normal".There is no "normal". Each one of us grieves as differently as each of our personalities and experiences with our loved ones who have left us. Being that we all have different experiences with our loves, we have different hurts, issues to deal with, circumstances to straighten out in our heads and the list goes on and on. We all have that basic grief, but there is no time table or rules when it comes to what we are feeling inside and when it surfaces. Birthdays are hard for me. Harder than the "Heaven Day" as I call it. I try not to think too much about the fact that I won't ever see Chris again in this life. I try to remember that this life is VERY short compared to the eternity of pure happiness that I will spend with her after my time here is up. That is a happy thought. Try to replace your bad/sad thoughts with happy ones. It will help you survive this. I too, can honestly finally see a significant difference in my emotional state since Chris left. It has been 6 years and 5 months. My heart is finally feeling lighter and I am more ready to do fun things. Chris knows I love her and always will. She loved life and was ALWAYS ready for a great time, so I want to let that part of her that is in me shine. Julie, you will feel better in time. Lu

AWWW...Thanks ya'll...It's thunder and lightening and raining to beat the band here now...so they wont be making the trip to the airport with me...I mean what fun is it to go in the car with the WINDOWS rolled up!!

So...I'll pick up Dad and we'll have a party when we arrive back home...The teeny bopper will stay here cause Abby is flippin out over the angels bowling...(we always called it the tater wagon!)

It's gonna be a really special day for her...if I can calm her down enough to eat!!

What a hunk o bunch o hair she has and it just calls out to snuggle up to. I'm sure she'll love her food, but boy, I'll never tell my dogs what they are missin in life. They have touchy tummies and with out a doubt at least one of them would be re-living that fun meal again and again if you get my drift. They love to eat about anything though.
My Bishon would be dying for one of those cupcakes!

Your collies bring you so much joy, that's way cool. I wish everyone had could have so much fun with a pet. Party hardy.

Thanks ya'll for making Abby's day very special...She's sooo spoiled and yes Toni...I do love my doggies...their a very big part of our lives...(they never ask for the car or beg to go to the mall!)

We were so late getting in from the airport last night that I was toooo tired to drag out the party hats or candles for their cupcakes...but I don't they they minded...LOL

I'd love to know what was in that truffle...they loved them...their other doggie gourmet treats are on the table and still haven't gotten them yet...but the day is still young!

Notice that tacky piece of velcro holding the trash can closed...ABBY IS THE TRASH CAN CULPRIT...the other two NEVER bothered the trash cans till she came along...typical woman...leading the males in her life to a life of crime...
