We finished up the last of the quinoa tabbouleh, with some cold ham and sliced tomatoes.

Last nite I cut up a watermelon and cantaloupe and put a splash or orange juice in it. We had that for dessert.

Tonight we are having tacos and refried beans. Bobby and his girlfriend are coming to dinner.

I too had leftovers from last night....pork/kraut/potatoes. I usually cook to specifically have leftovers.

I was too tired to fix myself much this evening, so it was just a big bologna sandwich with Miracle Whip and tomatoes, plus a piece of leftover blueberry pie.

How did you like the quinoa tabbouleh, Jasdip? Did you have it hot or cold? I've never made tabbouleh. (Man, that's a hard word to spell!)

Nita--I wish we were having tacos. I could probably eat them twice a week. But we usually just put everything on our plates like a big taco salad. Good either way.

Shirley, it's hard to get around having leftovers when there's just one or two people. Okay by us. Most of the time the food is better the second day, anyway.

We had to bring the cars in for inspection today. First mine...went shopping at Walmart while they did it. Then we brought DH's in and went to lunch. Today was an Italian buffet. I thought it just so-so but DH liked it so that was our dinner. I picked up some hot and sour soup after bridge just in case he's looking for something tonight. If not, we'll have it tomorrow night.

I am having my left over shrimp poboy and he is having a steak on the griddler and a salad.

Fried chicken legs...my kids are weird, that's the only part they like. Potato salad I made earlier in the day and some mixed frozen veggies. The pan is heating up right now for the chicken.

We had shrimp and watermelon salad with corn on the cob.

did a tuna pasta salad...too hot to do anything on the stove other than boil water..

Georgysmom, we don't have car inspections in Florida any longer. I'd forgotten all about that.

Susanjf, this has really been a hot summer and we still have August to get though. I need to make more salads. Good thing about them is they taste better if you make them early in the day. This heat just wears me out so by evening, I sure don't feel like cooking a lot of times.
