What Are You Doing Today?

I went to a few rummage sales this morning with Amber and we did not buy anything. We also went to my daughter Terri's rummage they were setting up and I got a few things given to me. A nice bag of canning lids and rings, a 3 tiered metal pie stand, and a very nice and old wooden rocking chair from my Granddaughter. It is just my size as I am short. I am so happy to get it. We had biscuits and gravy from Hardee's and ate it at Amber's. We also looked at all the pictures on a disc that were taken of Alyssa at 3 months of age. So cute. Now this afternoon I must get busy on some work around here. The weather is really nice, upper seventy's now and of course sunny with a breeze. What are the rest of you doing today. Hope all are doing well.

Well, I've spent most of the day on the computer. I did manage to eat eggs and toast with jelly finally, and let the rabbits out to play in the kitchen while I ate and did up the dishes from last night. Then I got back on here, while the rabbits were still out, played chase because I didn't close the kitchen door, back on here, then went to check on the rabbits, and of course caught one chewing woodwork, so they are now back in their house and I am back on here! I need to get back to my knitting for the fair!

I am cleaning out mail and papers. After backing into a pole last night and doing $2500 damage to my car, I am afraid to touch anything I might break. Trying to keep from having a nervous breakdown pretty much covers my life goals these days.

I have work today and am recovering from 4 days of singing. We had our choral performances on Thursday and Friday evening, then 2 on Saturday and 2 on Sunday. Our voices are about worn out and we're pretty exhausted. Plus DH came down with a virus, so he actually missed Wednesday's rehearsal and the Thursday and Friday performances. Bummer for him having to miss since we rehearse starting in September and you put all that work into it. He's one of the main first tenors so he was missed. I should explain - we sing in a Living Christmas Tree, which is a really big deal here with over 120 voices, full orchestra, and guest performers. It draws huge crowds, nearly filling the church most performances. Now I'm a bit behind in my Christmas prep but will hopefully catch up this week. Always do.

Happy Valentines Day to me, I've been on my hands and knees in the island and driveway beds trying to make some sense of winters mess ;0) Really, I feel pretty pleased, it looks better out there and I've been inside with our rain and cold for too many days. I found some baptisia shoots under the leaves, some inula too. I don't know yet if the salvia survived the colder winter, too soon to tell. DH helped me take down a 12' rhody to the ground, one of 5 in a row we'd already shorted by about 8' two years ago and this one didn't ever thrive again like the others. I was pulling leaves and debris out from under the azalea hedge when it started to rain again so I came in - thinking it was about 5 PM from the darker sky and it was 3:30. I'm not sure what we're going to eat tonight, maybe he'll cook a steak. I have a couple of lobster tail in the freezer that I like, but lobster isn't his preference ever... We are aiming for a Costco trip Thursday but DH did run to the store with a short list for me this morning and came home with flowers. Grocery store flowers, but I'm not complaining ;0)

Yesterday: DH realized his drivers license was missing, freaking out commenced. :0) We drove to two commercial buildings he'd had to get a security badge to enter. Being Saturday, people manning the front desk were off, no one to ask if they'd found his license, me driving...him...going crazy. lol He finally found it at home, in the scanner. Ran errands. Rented a movie(The Girl On The Train) @ the library. Went to REI, then Dicks Sporting Goods & purchased Yeti mugs w/ handles. REI was out of black ones & handles. Grocery shopped. Purchased rib-eye steaks. Grilled those for dinner, before the snow storm hit. Answered a CL ad, in a nearby town 37 minutes one way, for a FREE wrought iron gate. Had to use GPS to find it, one of those up-in-the-woods custom housing developments. He said he wouldn't hold it & would take the ad down when gone. Got there, no gate, ad was down, went home. Checked my email, he said "where are you?" Drove ALL the way back, he WAS HOLDING IT FOR US....really nice guy! Gate is perfect! It's an unusual size...it's six feet tall, four feet wide.

I've been at a Hearing Loss convention since Wednesday evening. Most of it wasn't very relevant to my lifestyle. I was hoping for a lot more focus on technological advances today. Not stuff that is already old hat to me. Not people trying to sell their procduct There was on speaker that was great though. The only one who didn't bore me to wanting to do a face plant into my water. I had a two hour trail ride booked for Sat. I got a good horse. But the wrangler was an idiot (IMO). No horsemanship. A wanna be cowboy without the ethics. Gave advice contrary to the the thing I do know. Since I was at the back I rode my way. My horse appreciated it. I told them ahead of time I rode with mostly English tack. Guess who was giving the reining horse? LOL At the end I tipped him as is the norm and casually mentioned that telling people to do a certain action was bad for a horse's back. I gave him an alternative to consider. He said that his way was the way the real cowboys did it and I should watch some old westerns and I would see. ROTFLOMAO I just smiled and thanked him for the ride. I didn't care much for the way he slapped his horse around to move it on the ground also. It wasn't outright abuse but it was super crappy horsemanship. Won't go back there. I had the banquet that night and was exhausted. Of all the places to hold this thing they chose an area that goes into triple digits this time of year. Plus it a tourist area that has only about a day or at most 2 days of things to see. Parking is outrageous. Their hotel charged 35 dollars a day. I stayed elsewhere and parked in the same lot for 10 dollars. Friday and yesterday the lot was full so I had to park at the other end of this tourist hellhole and walk the length back and forth. I'm glad to be home. Sleep in my own bed and ride tomorrow.

Playing catch up with paper work. Glad the thunderstorm did not do any damage or give us much rain. Just keeping the people who have been allowed back in their homes in Minot in my prayers. It is a mess. So much water damage.

Not a lot. Leftover pork roast from last night for dinner so I didn't have to think about that. It's been raining on and off this morning so I've mainly been doing like Tami and played on the computer.

Kathy, so sorry about your accident. That's a LOT of damage. Stay safe ;-)

I don't dare go to garage sales or thrift shops, because I don't need another thing in this house. If I bring something in, two things have to go out. Rule #1.

Working. Alone at that. Its been a rough week as we are in the insurance business with one of the major carriers. We sit on the IL/WI border and all around us was hit with the storm this past Monday. Good news though, most folks have power and if not they should very soon. Damages were wide spread but mostly minor as compared to past catastropes.

What am I doing today? ... well, the same as I do every M-F ... working. :-(

I put in, on average, 10-14 hours a day at the office. Fridays I try to be home by 6pm because we host a weekly block party during the summer months. It's been a tough week though so no party at our house. Instead, one set of neighbors invited us over for cheese and wine at 6pm. I am so looking forward to kicking back and relaxing.

Laundry - clothes and sheets/towels, and misc stuff around the house. Skipped the swim club because I had my hair colored yesterday.

I'm a litte surprised at the answers, given that it's finally July 15th.

Me? Got up this morning with a migraine, so spent an intense 3 hours trying to get rid of it (hot shower, Motrin and Pepsi, laying in a quiet dark room)--because with or without a migraine, I had PLANS!!! It did finally ease off.

Met DD for lunch at a great little Italian buffet we like, then we were off to catch Pt2 of the Dealthy Hallows. AMAZING!!!! Wonderful!! Best of all the movies, bar none. We really enjoyed it. And DD is going back this evening with some friends

Worked, my 8 hour day. Only problem was there were 2 RNs who's 8 hour day it was...both of us wanted to leave and last time this happened I volunteered to stay, so we drew straws and I won! I'm now relaxing but need to wash dishes and clothes. Tomorrow we're going to see Harry Potter. I can't wait! We're going to one of the early afternoon showings. Hoping there won't be such a big crowd.

Have 4 days off and will be cleaning up the house and yard.

Got up about 5:30 so I could drive a couple hours up to the camp my dd #1 is attending. Picked her up and decided to go home instead of shopping in the city. She was tired and I wanted to do some things at home. About 3 pm Dh, dd and I went to the horse trainers to talk about a horse we're buying (which happenes to be boarding there for a few weeks). DD rode for a while inside ( as I sat in front of the fan chatting with who ever showed up). Oh my it's hot and muggy but not as bad as it will be tomarrow at the State softball games we will be watching. I am not looking forward to being outside all day but I keep telling myself I'd rather go through summer than a nasty -5 temp of winter.
DD #1 is sleeping after camp, #2 is getting ready for ball games, and I'm playing on the Pc till I get myself up to pack the car for our early morning take off. We're leaving for Vacation soon, I'd like to be cleaning but it doesn't pay to do it to early with the kids & dh around.

I started out with a Red Hat picnic. It's a monthly deal. Potluck. Today the theme was Asian. Chilly weather but nice company.

Stopped at my favorite bakery on the way home. Bought a slice of Burnt Almond cake for DH, a whipped cream chocolate eclair for me, a dozen sugar cookies for DH and two orange muffins for the freezer.

Tonight I have to go get a gift card for a birthday. I'll probably eat somewhere while I'm out. Later I have to do some Red Hat stuff on the computer getting things set up on the calendars for the months coming up and send out a few announcements.

DS headed back home today, so I packed up the leftover food for him. Meanwhile, Georgy got out and ran up the driveway. Fortunately she just runs around for a few minutes and eventually comes back home. It did throw me off schedule a little bit so I rushed over to the course to make a 7:45 T-time. Played 18 holes, had lunch, met with our banquet manager and social manager to tie up some loose ends for a tournament we're having on Tuesday, then went grocery shopping and came home
