What Are You Doing Today?
Comments (18)Not much. No need to cook or bake this year, well I could have made cut-outs but decided not to. Neighbors brought some plus candies, a jar of homemade tortellini soup(! my supper tonight), homemade spag.sauce with a bag of red/green striped tortellini, trail bologna, cheese from another neighbor. Plus I have my little mince meat pies. Too many sweets I really don't need right now. The only running I did today was to Hallmark for another Balsam/Cedar Yankee candle - the large jar size. Love it. My other one is burning very low and getting smoky. Then to a market for some breakfast sausages which they were still out of. Bummer. Then home. The traffic was a nightmare! It was the busiest I've ever seen on a Friday before Christmas. Granted this was at the North End of the city where Walmart and all the big box stores and restaurants are. If not for kind drivers waving me in, I would probably be still sitting there waiting to get into the lane of traffic. I was so happy to see my country roads again....See MoreWhat are you doing today?
Comments (34)Yesterday: DH realized his drivers license was missing, freaking out commenced. :0) We drove to two commercial buildings he'd had to get a security badge to enter. Being Saturday, people manning the front desk were off, no one to ask if they'd found his license, me driving...him...going crazy. lol He finally found it at home, in the scanner. Ran errands. Rented a movie(The Girl On The Train) @ the library. Went to REI, then Dicks Sporting Goods & purchased Yeti mugs w/ handles. REI was out of black ones & handles. Grocery shopped. Purchased rib-eye steaks. Grilled those for dinner, before the snow storm hit. Answered a CL ad, in a nearby town 37 minutes one way, for a FREE wrought iron gate. Had to use GPS to find it, one of those up-in-the-woods custom housing developments. He said he wouldn't hold it & would take the ad down when gone. Got there, no gate, ad was down, went home. Checked my email, he said "where are you?" Drove ALL the way back, he WAS HOLDING IT FOR US....really nice guy! Gate is perfect! It's an unusual size...it's six feet tall, four feet wide....See MoreWhat are you doing today?
Comments (36)I finished edging the hedge border this morning that I began on Friday. One down, two to go. Then I hopped on the mower and mowed everything, finishing up at 3pm. The grass was high and rain is expected again either over night or tomorrow morning. I love my Toro Zero Turn mower but it's not the greatest on damp grass, makes skid marks, doesn't cut as well. Then I like to use the self-propelled Lawn Boy mower with the grass catcher bag around the garden area. Lots of walking, stopping to empty the bag, walking, stopping to empty the bag, etc. Needless to say my feet and back are achy tonight. Took two Bayer Back and Body earlier. Also my skin feels warm - too much sun today. One of the outside cats was AWOL for 8:30p supper, showed up a little while ago at 10pm. so took him outside and around to the cellar in the dark. Saw my first lightning bug of the season!...See MoreWhat Are You Doing Today?
Comments (36)Zalco, the only thing I can say is that I worked up to it. As my stamina improved i could last longer. And I walk. No jog. No run. Walk. 3.0 mph at a 7% incline. When I get comfy at a level i am, i raise the incline, not the speed. I don't always stay that long on the treadmill. My goal is a minimum 15000 steps a day. Depending on how busy I was that day, it may only be 30 minutes, or OVER 2 hours to get that many steps on my Fitbit. When I am at work I start at midnight when my fitbit resets to 0 and i walk outside and it takes around 2 and a half hours to get all 15000. Oh, and be entertained. I bring my kindle and watch youtube or tv shows or movies. It helps me kinda zone out to the incessant walking. Tonight's gonna be another 2 hour+ session. Been lounging around all day. My shoulder still hurts. :(...See Morerob333 (zone 7b)
