What the !!!!!!

A major Texas grocery chain has issued a voluntary recall of certain cuts of meat with expiration dates from May 2 thru June 20. I have some of the hamburger in my freezer now. (at least I didn't eat it.) What about those people who bought it and ate it? And, how would they know at this late date? Is there a light bulb going off telling them "Hey, that wasn't the flu. I had ecoli. Scary!

I don't worry to much about stuff like that, but I wouldn't eat it if I knew it was recalled because we don't know how fresh it is. I think ecoli and samonella has been in our food for generations we just didn't know it. Most people won't use raw eggs in anything, but my family and my husband's family still makes home made ice cream with raw eggs. None of us have died from it and don't remember anyone getting sick after wards. My sisters are so worried about this stuff and carry on about how chicken has to be cooked just right or we can get sick. I told them, "I am never going to cook chicken for you guys again. I cook it just like we did all of our lives and never give it a second thought and have never been sick after eating it."

I don't disagree but, the very young and the very old are more apt to become severely ill due to under developed or compromised immune systems. My point being that this announcement was made yesterday which is way too late for those members of our society to guard against being infected.

This is a lovely room! In a small space continuity is important. Before you add or paint anything else, paint the daybed and both chairs a dark brown, British Colonial as mentioned above. This way you can add the color you want here and there. The table in front of the daybed needs to be higher, like a tea table height. Use the chest on the side. To make the daybed more comfy, add old fashioned wedge pillows across the back and then the big pillows on top. What type of edge? What color? What color grout?

Thank you I am leaning towards white grout. We want a very tight grout line. But I think I prefer a gap between counter and door frame.. I am not sure i would like the tile extending past the countertop

What about when the hydrangeas go and the Montauk Daisies take over Kidding!! I like the idea of carrying the sign color to the door - that could be very pretty. Looks like large pavers. We live in wet winter country - PNW so moss etc is a routine thing here. We use the product Wet and Forget on our smaller pavers which works on moss & grime pretty well. Not all moss is green - it’s black mold looking too. Wet & Forget comes in concentrate or a sprayer container. Needs to be put down when pavers are dry & be able to stay wet for @ hour - so no spraying in sun or heat. Rain comes & washes black away & moss dies so it’s not immediate result but is seen working after the first rain. Not sure how successful this would be in less rainy climate. We buy it at Costco - product is popular here. We did pressure wash our pavers once using a round attachment that gives a much softer wash than the angled hard spray of the angled spray point of pressure washing. We were afraid the pressure washer would lift all the sand filler between the paver joints. ETA: we’ve never sealed our pavers but it is done by some. Need to clean first & I think it’s not permanent so must be redone every few years.

we just got a call about meat that was labled in april?? last night, from costco..i'm pretty sure it's all gone. thanks be we always cook everything well done!

The only "danger" with e-coli and salmonella is from eating contaminated products that have not been cooked to the proper temperature high enough to kill the pathogens. Cooking will kill it.

The real danger comes from cross contamination by not washing utensils and prep surfaces after cutting meat, and then switching to products that do not get cooked.

There is also the danger with e-coli of the organism being transferred to fruits and veggies by workers handling them. Washing produce that is intended to be eaten raw will help cut down on illness.

I would not worry about meat since it is usually cooked before being eaten.
