Thank you all so much, you're all very kind. It's getting a little better every day, but going thru photos this morning just got to me and I thought since I was already a mess again, I'd let you all know. She really was a special girl and we miss her so much.

I'm so sorry to hear about Paisley. We lost our Dudley a few weeks ago and I still keep thinking I hear his nails clicking on the floor or his collar jingling and expect him to greet me when I open the door. I'm glad you had so many happy years with Paisley - consider yourself hugged!

Flames...you can't even imagine how this has broke my heart for you two...I can't help but know Pais is in a better place and up there frolicking with Allie, Moses, and Duncan...it makes me miss our departed collies and the incredible amount of love and devotion they gave us...you're in my thoughts...she was a wonderful doggie and I hope soon your sadness is replaced with the wonderful memories she gave you for so many years...in the meantime...love on Shanzie and give her a special hug for me...

I've had my cry for the day. It's been a year since JD passed and was just discussing it with a friend today. She lost her German Shepard about the same time and she was saying how she still misses her. It's not easy but I still wouldn't trade all those wonderful years just to avoid the heartbreak. I loved when you said 'we loved her too much to make her try to go on'. When you love an animal so much, it's a gift to let go. The day does come when you will think of Paisley with a smile instead of tears. The grieving process is different for everybody. Just know it's okay to cry.

oh Pinkie, I am soo sorry. 14 yrs of wonderful loving. She was a beautiful dog.

I remember when our puppers past on, for weeks afterwards we would always unconsciously step over the place where she used to lay, picturing she was still there with us.

So sorry for your loss. As I'm sure you know, the day will come when you can think of her without crying. She will always be in your heart.

You both have our deepest sympathy. It is sooo hard to lose a part of the family.

It's been a year since Chica passed and almost a year since Tassie passed.I still think of my 2 girls everyday.It gets easier but stil hurts.Paisley had a great life and loved you unconditionally.You did the best for her.I hate to see them go but can't stand to see them suffer.Chica had the bad heart too,but hers made her fill with fluid and pass out.Was a terrible thing to see.I know they're at the Bridge running and playing together now.Run free Paisley!

Thank you all, again. Your kind words are very touching. We're doing OK, paying extra attention to the other dogs, one of whom does seem depressed by it all. It's Shanzie and she always thought Paisley was her mom. She's sad, too.

I forgot to add my condolences Flamingo.

It's a horrible thing to have to go through. If your other pets are like mine, Smudge was waiting for Bailey the next morning so they could lead me down the hall, to the kitchen. It was heart-breaking as heck to watch.

You love your other pets, and any others you may get, but you'll always love Paisley, as well. I am so sorry...
