special thoughts please

My boss just informed us that she will be having a couple of heart valves replace in a couple of weeks. Please keep her in your thoughts, please.

glenda, when that happen i just said ok, i'm not waititng and shaved the rest off...it was scarey and sure made my heart sad, but i felt i was taking charge... head over to wal mart..in the same section as purses, ect, they have a selection of bandanas...i had one for summer, and one for halloween..they were my "statement"....i was lucky as breast c drugs wern't as harsh as some? she's got to be reminded that she is still your friend, a mom, and everything she was before, aside from some very nasty cells that have invaded... and be as incouraging to the family as possible...they have to keep that positive outlook as well...prayers are continuing!

I am sad that you have all of those serious issues to deal with just now ... and focussed all in one week. I send many good thoughts and hopes, and prayers for good results, with enthusiasm. Often we would like to take the place of a loved one in such circumstances, I think - especially a child, i.e. one of our offspring. Perhaps especially when they were children, for we sort of think that it's unfair to dump such a load on one not yet grown. Perhaps less so once they're grown ... more or less along the line of, now that they're grown and mature, they can take their chances, as all adults must. Well, yes, but ... a son/daughter's always a daughter/son, and each has a special spot in our hearts, which makes it hard to see them suffer serious uncertainty, pain, etc. ((((((Husband ... Son No 1 ... Son No. 2 ... and Dorothy ... plus other family members also worrying)))))). ole joyful

Prayers are said daily for little Bradley and "all" children with cancer at St. Jude's and other hospitals. I just said a prayer for little Halle.

Good luck, Glenda. When I taught pre-K I got sick twice a year-the sick that lasts and lasts. Once I retired--none of that, so you're right in being fearful of those children. Why parents take them around others is selfish to me. If I were you, I'd stick close to home in case your immunity has been compromised--don't expose yourself to anything else. Good luck!!

A couple of them! I had my mitral valve replaced over 20 years ago. That might be incouraging to her. They do it much different now, but it is one of those times when you are feeling better (because of the improved circulation) but you still need to take it easy.

Hope it all goes well for her.

It's amazing how far operations on Hearts have come in the last few years...The best to her and I'll bet she'll be feeling sooo much better in no time flat!!

Sending good thoughts from here also. What type of valve is she having put in? A pig valve or a mechanical valve? I have heard that within the next 10 years, they won't even have to cut you open (at least not much) when you need heart surgery. it will basically be an in and out thing. I can't imagine that but if I need to have that done, I hope it'll be available to me.
