Just read that! I would have never expected that. Levi recently made a public apology to the family, that explains it. Supposedly Bristol was too afraid to tell Sarah so the tabloids did. Wow! I wish them the best!

They are such a cute couple. Hope this rumor is true. and I still won't vote for his MIL.

They chose to let their parents know by releasing it to the media first? Yeah - that'll help (NOT). Such immaturity. I hope they learn to address difficult situations more appropriately and maturely as they age and grow. I do, of course, wish them the best. They're up against an awful lot.

If that is the case, my guess is it is their passive aggressive way of not letting their families talk them out of it.

Didn't they pull this "We're getting married!" stunt before? It keeps their name in the media. Maybe this is for a chance at their own reality show? Why would they not just quietly get married without making a big splash for a magazine to make the announcement. I believe they were paid for this exclusive news "scoop".

I have a hard time believing this was not all orchestrated by SP no matter what they claim. Maybe to make the family seem more legit for the next presidential run.

So now it looks like their engagement may be called off again. Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston have reportedly called off their wedding. Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Did those two silly, lovable scamps pull this stunt just to get the reported $100,000 the magazine paid them for this exclusive "scoup"? Or were they really going to tie the knot just so that they could be more marketable and get their own reality show. So when shopping for a producer for their show idea, they found out nobody wanted them because they were boring. So there was no point in going through with the wedding since there was not going to be any series making them huge reality show stars putting their face on coffee cups and T-shirts.

It doesn't look like they ever really wanted to get married. First it was to 'legitimatize' the family so that Sarah could run as a 'family values' candidate. When Sarah lost the election, the engagement was quietly severed since it no longer served a purpose. The next engagement announcement looked like a scam to make a few quick bucks, and now that too, seems to have run out of steam quickly.

What is their next trick?

I sure hope they did not pull this latest stunt to take away any publicity that Chelsea was getting surrounding her beautiful wedding. That would seem very low and catty but the timing makes it seem like a possibility.

LOL at the "lovable scamps," Dilly Dally. Yup, those young 'uns sure are a couple of charmers.

I don't know why they are doing what they are doing..but I wouldn't doubt those kiddos are just in one of those really unhealthy love/hate relationships. Since they have a kid, they may be in it forever. I'm not 100% buying that they are doing everything for money or fame.

I think there's a chance they kind of still like each other (You generally don't go to the media bashing a girl's public family unless you are really hurt 'cause deep down you kind of still like her). Although they can't get along, maybe they really wanted to be able to make their little family work. We all know these type of relationships exist especially with younger couples. People get back together when they shouldn't...There are people who marry, divorce, and marry, divorce the same person... it's all similar. I wouldn't rule totally out a money scam on their part... but I wouldn't totally rule out it being just an unhealthy passionate relationship either.

It's pretty sad isn't it? I think it's too bad that seemingly the parental involvement of both sides with the teens is rather thin. Apparently both Bristol & Levi put little to no value on education. He doesn't even have his GED. Bristol was set up with a condo in Anchorage & has a nice new vehicle & has an "entry level" job in a dr's office (aside from the supposed big bucks she's reportedly making with the potentially flim-flam activities) . I wonder if there was any encouragement for her to go to college.... use that $$ her mom & supposedly she has, to educate herself? Of course @ that age, they are 9 feet tall & bullet proof. LOL

I don't know why they announced wedding plans, but calling it off was a very wise idea. It's not good to start out a marriage where neither set of parents approve. Too much water over the bridge with his disrespectful remarks about SP. I'm not a big fan, but I, myself, wouldn't want him for a son-in-law.

They are too young and clearly unprepared for a solid relationship that includes earning enough income for their family to live independently. I think a lot of growing up still has to occur for both of them before they are ready. I agree with bee that they both need educations and training for a profession.

It is just tragic that there is a baby in the middle of this train wreck.

I wonder if she has been practicing abstinence as she went around the country preaching other young people should do, and that she'll do until marriage. I also heard on the View that Levi's old girlfriend has accused him of being the father of her child, which he is denying.

What?!? None of the new reports I read said she accused him of being the father. In fact her quoted statements were just the opposite. There has been no public denial statements from Levi either because it was never an issue. Of course there may be various new sources who report different. Link?

I really wondered about Bristol's abstinence preaching and practicing when she told how Levi proposed to her. (He put rose petals on the bed in the shape of a heart and then got down on one knee and proposed marriage.) This just did not sound like how a couple who is practicing abstinence would become engaged.
