We came down for a few days to visit our son and his girlfriend. They have a big house, and it's just amazing! Always makes me want to go home and clean and declutter. They're getting g married in June, so we will be back down then. Will post some pics when I get home , 6 hr drive back to WV tomorrow.

Kentucky Blue came from Kentucky Wonder and Bluelake. Since I like trying new things, I would give them a go. I've never grown them and this year I have way too many others to grow to even consider them. My bean count stands at 35 varieties this year alone.

Windmill Palm update from Kentucky

The first photo was supposed to have been taken in 2003, but the date of the photo was 4/9/06 at 4:38 p.m. The second and third photos were taken on 10/24/09 at 6:57 a.m. If these dates are correct, then there were only three years between the first and second photos. I planted two windmill palms three years ago, and they have only slightly grown. I would like to know how this palm grew so rapidly. My zone is now 6b based upon the new 2012 USDA Plant Hardiness map. Has anybody else had such rapid growth?

The pic didn't work well so. the damage is at the bottom 1/3 of the plant the top new leaves are fine Thanks I have a plant hanging in an upsidedown bucket next to the infeted plants and it is also showing the leaf and only on the lower 1/3 of the plant

Rosesmi, thanks. I got Grande Amore spring 2014. That one was from Edmonds' and I got another one from Palatine Roses. Both are doing exceptionally good. This spring I got another one from Palatine. Love this rose. It gets bare legged and some BS issues late summer and is tall. I like Let Freedom Ring, Veteran's Honor, and Black Magic. Today Grande Amore is the better, most productive, healthier rose for my garden. I don't notice any fragrance. A low maintenance rose.

My I be nosy and ask what parts of KY and WV? You'll be going very close to my house on your way home. I live about 5 miles from interstate 64.

Eastern Ky is my birth state but Fla is my home now. Anyhow my roots are from the tri state area of Ky, WV and Ohio and can drive to all three states within 5 miles of each other.

Where did you visit in Ky?

Are you near Fort Knox? I just saw a special on it. There is a question of whether there is gold in it anymore.
Even though it is guarded the towns people say they know there is no longer gold there. Can you find out?
