Yes, I'd go out and talk to them, it could be they are remembering how the house used to be before it was flipped, and are amazed at the changes!

i'd talk to them them, too..if they lived there at somepoint it might be fun to have a bit of history...

I agree go talk to them, much easier to deal with what they are staring at, and probably it is just the improvements that have been made to the house, than to let your imagination run wild.

I think you have to talk to them because now I want to know why they are looking too LOL.

Ditto Paula. If they evaporate while you're talking to them, you'll know they were ghosts. LOL

I'd just go out and offer a friendly 'hello', without being at all confrontational. Better yet, why don't you get busy in the front yard, doing some gardening or something, so you're there when they come by tonight.

They probably just want to meet the new neighbors. Just this past weekend (mind you, we bought the country house 3 years ago) one of the neighbors down the street--who my husband hadn't yet met, who I've only said/waved 'hello'--dropped over to bring us lunch.

My guess is that they're looking to make friends with you AND admiring how your home looks now. It could be that they used to live in the neighborhood and have recently moved back. Or maybe there's a bird's nest on your property and they're following the progress of the little ones? But it doesn't sound that creepy to me--just that they're interested in your place. Hey, if you're sitting in the house, watching them, it's entirely possible they're watching you--at some times during the day it's possible to see right into our houses, depending upon the lighting

They may be getting ideas? I know sometimes when my husband and I are out walking, we stop and look at things, especially landscaping ideas. I would probably ask them, or if they see you go outside, they may ask you something?

I'd go out and introduce myself. I am sure they are harmless. As others have said, they are probably amazed at the transformation in your house. I walk around my neighborhood often. I'm not really "friends" with most neighbors, but when I see people on the street I always say "Hello."

Uh oh, a few weeks ago a friend and I went out to lunch in downtown Lexington. We then walked to an indoor shopping center and then around a couple streets looking at the older homes and admiring the gardens and architecture. I hope we didn't creep anyone out. ( :

It's near where I work and every time Lauren and I drive through the area we pick out the houses we wish we had.

I had something similar happen to me and I decided to ask if there was a problem. It turns out the couple was trying to decide on paint colors for their house, which was 2 blocks away.

Well I will go out and ask them next time I see them. Its not like I am watching for them, but I can see out from where I am sitting. Its hard to predict when they will be around I haven't seen them in a couple days. I dont think they are looking at my landscape cause we havent really done nothing, We have a small garden in front and thats it.. but my yard is always cut and picked up. There is nothing spectacular about the front of my house. its got brick and siding lol.. I think its creep personally, obviously I am the only one LOL..... But since I started reading posts.. I have been thinking about what they might be looking at, There are HUGE trees behind my house they may be looking at the trees, cause there are alot of misletoe etc in these huge trees. But I will let yall know what happens..

Look at it as an opportunity to meet some new neighbors.
I would walk out the door with a smile and a wave and a hi we are new to the neighborhood, that should break the ice and you may find some new friends.
I was very happy to meet many of my neighbors and find some history on this house.
You may want to know info on how the work was done on your house etc.

At one of my previous homes we often had people stop and look at the house, one couple in particular, I did the hi and wave and went out to meet them, they loved our paint color and wanted it on their house but were afraid to knock and ask us, I was happy to give them the paint color and they were delighted. Their house was not on the same street so no problem there.

Don't be self-conscious. Take it as a compliment. Unless as they're looking at it the get a sour look on their faces, spit and walk off with arms flailing!

Maybe they lived there at one time. Maybe they were in a foreclosure.

Oh, I just thought of something. Just Sunday morning, I was sitting in the living room of the 'new' house in the country. Saw the woman next door pull out of her driveway, and drive V-E-R-Y slowly past. I put my hand up to the window I was sitting next too and waved (she was 'caught' and did wave back). Now, you have to understand, she was the woman we bought from (they moved to his mother's house next door). I am aware that the previous owners have been very interested in ALL the changes we've made to the property--and many neighbors have commented as well. Wonder if the couple you're seeing are the ones who let the place fall into disrepair, and they're just sort of 'cataloguing' the improvements?

One of them grew up there and is now back to see their parents. The partner is probably trying to convince the spouse that they can't just walk into your house. I've seen something similar happen before in my neighbourhood.

Or they're just checking you out on your couch.
