I'm not familiar with your model of printer but here's one thing to try. I had a similar problem with my HP D1320 model. It was problem free but after changing the color cartridge it took forever to print one page (like 30 minutes). I used their online support and if I remember correctly I was told to hold in the on/off button and, while doing so, open and close the lid 3 or 4 times. That was supposed to "reset" the system. Ultimately we found my problem was that I needed to change my black cartridge --even though it was still half full of ink.

I always used HP inkjets but this time I went with a Brother laser that is both black and color, it is fantastic and it is a multi function does it all, scan, copy fax print and so much more, I got it when it went on sale at office max for a little over $300. But with what I will save on not buying the expensive ink it will be worth it. I would really suggest looking at this same one it would be perfect for a small office. My husbands company uses these Brother lasers and they rarely ever have any problems other than changing the toner occasionally. Brother MFC-9120CN Digital Color All-in-One Printer OH MY GOSH it is on sale for $299 man I would jump on that deal asap! that is less than I paid for it, but their sales do not last long. They do fast delivery too. I am not kidding this thing will do stuff I will never need to do but for an office it would be great. I checked on several sites for reviews and this model had a lot of positive reviews.

Good luck Sue, I wouldn't try that for any money, just don't care for a mess to clean, off counters, hands, and floor. Anticipating one always! I thought Walgreens could fill any cartridge, guess I am fortunate in that regard, just the initial outlay for regular cartridges, and now, refills at Walgreens do the job. I read in the forum years back of people trying to fill their own, and decided it wasn't for me. There are a lot of things I WON'T do, taxes, bank statements, and fill ink cartridges, that is why those people are here for us to hire to do those things! I researched this recently when running low on ink for my Canon photo printer. What I learned, at least for this particular printer, is that there's no clear answer. Some people reported excellent results from refilling the cartridges, while others said "never again!" One thing I realized is that one person's satisfaction in the quality of a given print can be another person's disappointment. In the end I decided to buy Canon inks, and I got the best price on Amazon. Here's one idea: Go to Amazon and look up the recommended HP inks. Take a look at the consumer reviews. It's possible you'll see some comments about other options. Also, you might check out DPReview's Printers and Printing Forum. Do a search on HP ink or the model number of your printer and see what has been discussed. DPReview is a great resource.
