3 cats and a bunch of cat food, I guess. Man, these cats are ruining my fun! I WOULD have packed money, jewelry, miniature art, weapons, and food and water, otherwise. The money and jewelry to be used to buy provisions, miniature art because it's small and irreplacable, weapons to protect ourselves from looter/robbers/criminal element and food to eat.

Our 2 cats and 1 pug and their food and leashes/rope(1st sack - and cover them with a large towel so they don't freak out). Money, lock box with important papers (passport, birth certificates, marriage certificate, etc), personal phone book, jewelry, flashlights, camera, batteries, granola (2nd sack). Gallon jug of water, blanket, underwear/socks for DH and me (3rd sack). Family photos, mementos, kitchen knives (our only weapons, but a good suggestion from flamingo), car/house keys, fruit (4th sack)...I would leave some room in the 4th sack for anything we might need to pick up along the way.
Are we walking or driving?

Homeowner's insurance policy, family pics, and my dad's war memrobelia. Water and provisions, food for Peati, a change of clothes, toilet paper and soap.
It's hurricane season here and my tote is packed with supplies.

Contents of the safe (important papers), bottled water, our meds, dog food, cat food, litter and pan, small plastic bowls, some canned and bagged food, some clothes, makeup, toothbrushes, toothpaste, personal items, a few pictures, address book, cartons of ciggies.

I'm assuming we would be leaving in the car, so there would be cages for the 6 cats, leash for the dog. My money and cell phone would be in my purse on my shoulder.

Everything from my curio hut, because everything in there is very special to me. We just moved and I was able to pack it all into one of those grocery bags. So there is one bag.

All of the boys baby books and all of my photo albums would go into bag #2.

A blanket and a doll my mom made for me, a few important papers and a few small pieces of jewelry would go into bag #3.

And bag #4 would have the cat, and her food and the dogs things, (there is no way that he could fit into a bag) some snacks and a few extra pieces of clothes for each of us. Oh, and my purse. (the cat might be crowded LOL)

Dog food and dog toys, Bob's meds, all papers from the safe, all family photos that would fit, all jewelry, a few of Bob's guns, clean undies, 1 roll of toilet tissue, deodorant, shampoo and soap, an ancient family Bible, our cameras and memeory cards. I think I need another bag please. I would also like to take the laptop computer and I've run out of room.

Sign me up under Linda for more bags. When I head to the basement during storms (likely tonight) I always grab my purse (money, cell phone, drivers license are already in it). Also, the little bag Patti made me, has my camera, and binocs, and I always grab that. On the stairs to the basement, I have lined up some candles that are on the way to the basement. I just haven't made a trip down the stairs lately due to my knees. They'll go down on the next trip. Down there I already have a crank type radio, and a crossword puzzle. I guess if I had more warning I'd pack more stuff.

Passport - which I don't got ... but daughter says I gotta get before next Jan., when going to AZ for my Birthday Bash!

Jewellery, gold - don't got none o' that, neither.

Dog food - but no dog, so that's out.

Cat food - but only one cat'll let me touch her, so don't need much o' that, either.

Birth certif. - was told at the border recently that photocopies just don't cut it!

Driv. lic. - wouldn't want to get a ticket for speeding as I scooted away.

But - no div. lic. - cop can't write it. Guess I'd better take plates off of car, as well, to really leave him/her up in the air, so to speak.

When s/he asks who I am ... darned if I know. Is s/he going to haul me off to jail?

(That should be fairly secure, in case of disaster - but I hope that the jailer survives, to bring me food).

money - but right now I'm a long way down in the U.S. ... and I have a limited supply o' that ... and when I take the multi-coloured Canadian variety in to a local bank (if more than about 10 mi. or so from the border) ... they give me that look out of the corner of their eye.

Looks like Monopoly money to many of them.

So - that's a problem.

Looks like I need to give this subject some extended thought!

P.S. Did you note that all of the items on the list were capitalized ... but "money" ... so I guess that it's not very important.

By the way - how do you think that the average U.S. bank more than a few miles from the border would react to those coins that The Canadians have issued to replace $1.00 and $2.00 bills (much more durable, you know)??

The animals definately and some food/water for them. My wallet, titles to the cars, bank info and other important papers, I wouldn't have room for all my photographs.. so I'd have to take just some of them, makeup, toothpaste, a hairbrush, camera, address book and a jug of something to drink.

From Experience:
1. Bathroom Toiletries (don't forget Toilet Paper)
2. Meds, Water, food for 3 days. Can Opener (don't forget it)
3. Dog Food
4. Important Papers. Inflatable Mattress (you have to rest after the stress of leaving a disaster.) I hate guns but I would take my pistel.

Then pray that the car has enough gas to get where I'm going. People often run out of gas when there is a mass evacuation.

A few family photos, my purse which has medical cards and a list of important phone #'s and a few keepsakes in bag 3

All for obvious reasons plus Dh is insulin dependent so must have food and insulin.

my campstove, fuel for it, my camp flash light, food, clothes depending on the season and a blanket.
