I get involved when necessary. I'm the one that goes out and helps when I see someone in trouble. If I hear something suspicious I'm out there. Never one to hide behind locked doors. As a night person I try to keep an eye on things as I come and go.

On the other hand I can be your worst enemy. Treat me bad I'll definitely treat you worse. That would make me a bad neighbor in some eyes I guess.

Gee, I'd have to ask my neighbors I guess. Maybe the fact they ask me to get their mail and newspapers and save them until they get home from vacations (sometimes 2 weeks).

Being friendly without being intrusive.

I am not overly friendly, but if the neighbors need help or a favor I will oblige.

I did call the sheriff on my one neighbor over what I thought was mistreatment of their dog. They are just now starting to talk to me again... but there is another problem at their house (an unsightly one) and if I turn them in again they will hate me. So.. I am hoping one of the other neighbors complains so I can stay out of it.

Whenever we or my neighbors go away, we water each others plants, take care of each others pets, collect the mail or whatever needs to be done. Talk about a neighborhood watch-- they get descriptions, license plate numbers, etc. Great neighbors!

I am a good neighbour because I am friendly and courteous to other neighbours - a friendly wave and smile as they drive down the road, etc.. They all know that I will do all I can to help in any situation and keep an eye out for suspicious activity in the area without being an Alice Kravitz.

I don't think I've ever been a bad neighbour because everyone around here is very nice and friendly, therefore no situations which may end in bad feelings towards one another.

Nothing makes me madder than seeing these idiots around me mistreat or neglect their animals. I don't hesitate to address the issue..guess that doesn't make me very popular, but who cares?

The rest of the time, I stay to myself cause I don't care for 99% of my neighbors.

We're friendly but we aren't "overly" friendly. We all kind of keep our own space, but stand out in the yard occasionally and visit, etc.

I only have a neighbor on one side, but not close and my neighbor across the road. I have gotten the mail for my neighbor across the road when she is not home. I bake things for her and we talk on the phone. Today I called both my neighbors to tell them about the dogs around my house again. The neighbors next door to us are at work a lot so we are friendly but don't chat much.

We are helpful and respectful. But the most significant thing is that we teach our kids to be helpful and respectful, too. Our kids are well-behaved, but also fun and play with all the other kids, even if they are much younger. Our kids "look out for everyone and everything (i.e. pets) smaller than them." That's what we tell them. ;o) As well as calling the neighbors Mr and Miss first name and obliging when a neighbor asks them to do something.

People who don't manage their kids make the worst neighbors, whether the kids are toddlers or teenagers.

4.I am only one on dead end road, we own front property, we are surrounded on three sides of National forrest land so, I DON'T BOTHER MY NEIGHBORS EVEN THE ONE THAT THEIR GOATS GET OUT AND EAT MY PLANTS AND SHRUBS, and neighbors don't bother me. The only neighbors we have are at the fork in the road above our road. If you come down my road you are either comming to see me or lost.

you know, we're just far apart on our street, i can't tell you...
in fact, what used to define a good nieghbor isn't anymore...how many of us are lucky enough to have one you'd leave your house key with? or check on?

I visit with neighbors when I see them out. Will pull their garbage can up the drive, when it falls in the street after pick up. Take the paper to the door, if it is still out at noon.

I "hope" my neighbors where I live now, like me and what I do. I plan to live there for a longer while. :)

I am a good neighbor because I love to bake...LOL I love to make breads and cakes. David and I can not each all of them. You know, those bread recipes make 2-4 loaves so I just trot them over to my neighbors. All of my neighbors are elderly so I love being able to share with them. They all love the home made breads.

David and I both will jump right in to help with whatever they need help with. I know they help out keeping an eye on my place when I have to be gone. They feed my cat for me when I need them too.

I also share my roses with the neighbors. The smile on their face when I take a big honking bouquet of fresh cut roses is worth a million bucks!

I am the perfect neighbor. I live about a mile away. lol

I must be a good neighbour because I am the person who is asked by many neighbours to feed their animals and take care of their houses when they go away.

I stop and chat with everyone on my street except the nasty one next door. Cheryl my neighbour on the other side of me is sick a lot of the time or doesn't have groceries in her cupboard so I share with her what I have and make her up a meal when I know she isn't well.

Most of us help each other out. Dale across the street comes to my aid when my basement floods and Cheryl has helped me weed the backyard and helped me get rid of the wet stuff from the basement. Ken and Frieda have done so much for me and they are like family. They got me through the grief of losing my Mom. I in turn help my neighbours out.

Dale's wife Karen will often come over with a few bottles of beer and often she will yell across the road and say "come across the ditch (the road) and have a beverage" We will sit on her front porch and hoot and holler and laugh ourselves silly. Other neighbours always comment on how they liked hearing us laugh.

The new neighbour across the street (how terrible I can't recall his first name) will come over and give Loki a treat.
Loki doesn't bark at him either.

We are such good neighbours I looked out my front window on Saturday and saw my lawn mower sitting on the sidewalk. LOL Tom the neighbour two doors over must have brought it over from where I store it, gassed it up and was giving me a hint it was time to cut my grass. LOLOL I had planned on cutting it on Sunday but I didn't take offense. He even raised the wheels for me because this would have been the first cutting of the season and the grass was still wet.
