Watching the progress being made on my old house; I've got a painter working on the trim/windows. It's been neglected for too many years..sure is a good feeling to see fresh paint. :)

Saturday, each and every minute of it. It was the first full real spring day to get out in the yard to see what is growing and what is not. The granddog came to visit and rode around the yard with me on my scooter to take in the sights. Of course, dear daughter brought the granddog and that was icing on the cake. It was a good day!

Seeing some of my kids on Saturday and Sunday and also being able to go to church on Sunday.

We thought we were losing our youngest 1 month old greatgrandbaby Saturday night. Hearing from our daughter that he is alive was my greatest highlight of the weekend. He is still very sick.

Celebrating my birthday with my family at my daughter's house last night.

Spending time with my daughter. We transplanted some flowers and then went shopping.

My sister and I drove up to Mitchell, SD, Friday morning. 5 other women from our church got there about 10:00 that night. We packed food for the hungry in the Dominican Republic. There are a lot of Haitian refugees there also, from the hurricans. We spent the night Friday night, and went to the Corn Palace in the morning, pack foods and left for home about 3:30. I wanted to get home befor dark. It was about 250 miles up there. I really enjoyed it.

Being able to move a couple pieces of furniture into the newly built room addition. It's been a long couple months. :-)

Hearing the sound of lawnmowers around the neighborhood (including at our house).

I spent much of the weekend working. But there were also two highlights to the weekend.

1) Saturday morning garage sales - I was offered a deal if I wanted to take the lot (9 antique cup/saucer sets). There were only 4 sets that I really wanted badly but I got such a deal that I couldn't refuse and all 9 sets are displayed on my dining room buffet right now.

2) We went 'waterfalling' and got new waterfall pics of some falls I'd photographed a couple of weeks ago. After a couple of really warm days, the water flow was really high. We also drove on down the Lake Superior shoreline to the Eagle Harbor lighthouse and got some really great photos along the way and while there. I'll have to post some later as they are very unusual, the way the ice is breaking up on the shore line.

We were going to hunt up another couple of falls but I got called into work.

going to dd's and watching dgd (1) and dgs (almost 4) take a swimming lesson...aside from the fact the water's not warm enough and her lips were blue, cried when the lesson was over...and at lunch when she sat there saying "grandma" every few minutes...you know you're loved!

Going to theatre to see WICKED!

I spent the weekend taking aspirin for my headache, coughing up gallons of phlegm, and waiting for my gargling-razor-blades sore throat to go away. This all happened while outside temps were mid 70s with brilliant sunshine.

Hard to pick a highlight out of those....

Saturday was the first day in weeks that I had no obligations to anyone or anything so I played. I went out to breakfast with my SIL and then we went "twacking", which is a Newfoundland term for shopping with no intention to buy. I did buy a few little things but had a great day and spent less than $20.

We have a tiny but well maintained zoo here - we went as this was the first nice Friday we have had so he took the day off. It was just lovely, cool enough that all the animals were out and actually playing, one snow tiger was chasing a big ball all over his enclosure, people were taking pictures like crazy. The only thing I missed was all the baby ducks all around the pond, it's still too early for that - I'm going to plan a picnic for us to go back when the baby ducks and geese are out - watching the moms keep them rounded up and well behaved is as much fun as watching the more exotic animals, and these are "just there" because they are natural to our area - :)

It was our 51st anniversary yesterday and we went to the Olive garden for dinner.I had the baked Ziti,mmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.It was the first time we went out to eat since i began the journey thru breast cancer,While i was doing chemo i only went to the dr's as i didn't want to take any chances of catching anything.It was a good weekend all around,very warm,in fact too warm for me,in the 90's and the same today.We went from winter to summer with no spring,or so it seems to me.

Gee, I enjoyed my weekend, although I didn't do anything earth shattering. My daughter came over Saturday and kept me company while I did a cake for someone she knew. I really have fun with her, and we visit and laugh while I work. I love that. On Sunday, my husband and I went for our first bike ride of the season. It felt like an accomplishment that I was able to make it the regular distance and be able to get up that brutal hill on the way back. And I love doing things like that with my husband.

Sunday afternoon for me. Some friends called in to see us and ended up staying for an evening meal. This couple are such nice people - we have known them for around 25 years - and it was a lovely way to end the weekend.
