Talking to the pregnant daughter yesterday. She had a great day, and felt really good. Not much longer.... due on the 2nd of May.

Guess I just answered this one on the 'how did your Easter go' thread.

Hightlight had to be talking to my Dsis on the phone. We only live 2 miles away, and talk and see each other regularly. But they had a terrible crash on I-95 the day before. I'm so glad I was ABLE to talk to her. They're so lucky to be alive, and that no one else was hurt or killed. Definitely a 'makes you think' moment.

Sorry, I am among the living....we spent the night in Des Moines as Kalie and Mike were flying out to Tortola (British Virgin Islands) this morning at 6:00 AM! We were up at 3:00...and I think I got about 2 hours of sleep. We got back to our house at 7:00 and we went and took naps...just crawled out now! I'll post a QOTD in just a minute!

Both. I enjoy the hype during the game but don't necessarily watch all the hours and hours of pregame stuff. I do enjoy most of the commercials because they show a lot of creativity. For years we couldn't get the ads, only local ads by a car dealership that recently went into receivership - I think DH put a curse on them! But now we get the ads through the digital feed from Detroit.

I hang all jeans/slacks on one side and all tops on the other with a dress or two on the end. Tops (which I have the most of) are hung by color with white/offwhite/light tan in one area, yellow, pink/peach/orange/red, darker tans/rust/brown, greens/blues/blacks. My husband and I share a closet and his side and my side are separated by a hanging shoe holder which has compartments for shoes, purses, ect. I keep the empty hangers in one spot, moving them as I take the clothing off of them. We have a second closet where we store out of season clothing, some on hangers and some on those big covered, rectangular tubs on the floor. Laundry baskets for dirty clothes sit on top of the tub lids. That's pretty much it, I think. We both have folded clothing in dressers as well. Mostly underwear, socks, gardening and camping clothes (old raggedy stuff).

Sermon by our Doctor of Ministry candidate minister, just returned from 3-month sabbatical, partly spent on her thesis:

God, like a man patrolling the beach throwing living starfish back far into the ocean, is a "Star-thrower" ...

... and calls us to be "star-throwers", too ... having respect for life ... preserving life ... being serious about preserving our precious God-given planet.

Good wishes for a creative and conservationist lifestyle during this week ... and beyond, everyone.

P.S. A secondary, if I may? The fellowship at Easter breakfast with friends much like larger family at our church.

My mom called yesterday--that is the first time I have talked to her in almost a month--she lost her job in Dec. and her phone service in Jan. I bought and sent her a Tracfone but she doesn't like to use up her minutes to talk like we used to so I don't call her as usual. I'll be going to the store later to buy her a phone card that I'll send in a box of goodies this week.

Sitting on a sofa with my 18-year-old granddaughter, her legs across my lap, viewing prom dresses on her Blackberry. I'm so lucky to have her, and our great relationship.

I think it might have been a highlight when a church member told me how much my old art teacher wanted to meet up with me next week. She lives in Colorado. That was near 60 years ago when she was my teacher. The church member said I must have made a special impression on my teacher!

Visiting a little church just a block from home for Easter Services. It was so nice to be able to walk there. The people were friendly, the sermon was good. It is a very small church. There were maybe 75 people there for Easter service. This is a whole lot like the church I grew up in and it's been years since I've attended services somewhere so small. We're planning to go back next week.

The breakfast at church. Served by the youth group (my DGD being one). Then a play they (the youth group) put on during the service.

The much needed rain; most of the city got a little over an inch..just a drop in the bucket actually, but still appreciated.

Finally getting to sit down and relax with a cup of tea at about 11:30 p.m.

Why are even simple Holidays so much work? I want to be a heathen and spend the next holiday alone on a beach somewhere.

Drawing a line thru the "do the taxes" on my list of things to do. Now everything that's left on the list is fun stuff. Sew this, paint that, teach such and such.... I am so much happier today than I was this time yesterday!

Hearing our church choir sing "Hallelujah" at the end of the service. I helped serve breakfast in the church basement all morning but I did run upstairs to hear that song. I even remembered to take my apron off before I went upstairs. LOL.

All the hours before the last one of the shift, when something awful happened. Stayed late and didn't want to leave but the other shift was on the floor and house supervisor wanted us gone so they wouldn't have to pay us overtime. Decided not to put down my overtime, because that wasn't the reason I stayed.

Eating lunch with my special needs sister at the Home. And listening to her tell everyone at the table what all was in her Easter 'bag'......(this bunny has learned it's easier than a basket). When we buy her clothes for her birthday and Christmas, we prewash so she can wear right away. The Easter Bunny and Santa doesn't do that, so her clothes were in their Blair pkgs. She was so excited to tell me that the Easter Bunny brought her BRAND NEW clothes. Hmmm, wonder if she thinks the others are hand me downs! lol
