Aw, look at those puppy eyes. It's so tough to be a good pet parent when you have to do these things but you showed your love and kindness to her by being a great parent. Best wishes to you. I know how sad it is to lose a furry friend. Just remember all the good times the two of you enjoyed.

I met Sadie! It's a terribly difficult thing to do, but you did the right thing. You know that a lot of us have been in the same situation as you are, and we know the loss that you're suffering.

So sorry your sweet Sadie is gone. I know how hard it is to lose a loved pet.

My heart aches for you. It sounds just like my first Irish Setter. Sadie's such a cutie. It may take a while before the smiles come without the tears, but they will, along with great memories. Some people say they would never go through that pain again, but I think compared to all the years of joy, it's a small price to pay.

Thank you all! Yes, she was a sweet puppy, even though she was over 12 years old. I miss her so much, but I've been able to work through it, a few tears here and there. I've washed all her things, and have given them to my DD or my young neighbors, who have a new puppy. It's nice that someone else will be getting good use out of them.

Yes, my DMom passed in January and we had a huge memorial PARTY for her 2 weeks ago, laying her remains to rest beside my DDad. She was nearly 90.

On another note, my left knee replacement is scheduled for August 9. It's been 4 years since the right one was done, and I can't wait for this one to be fixed too.

Anyway, thanks to all for your sympathies. I know most of you have been through this yourselves, once or twice, and that you know very well what it's like.
