Bald is beautiful. A dear friend of mine was going through chemo and lost her hair. She wore lots of scarves which looked okay. I told her "Ya know...hair is so overrated." The next day she came to work without her scarf and was proud as a peacock!

You are so good natured about everything happening to you, but I know this was tough. Hope you can find some scarves, hats you like or just go without if that is comfortable. Take care. Your DH is sweet to help with that.

I always remember the episode of Sex in The City when Samantha had chemo for breast cancer. She wore a wig to a speaker's engagement and in the middle of her speech, she got so hot she took the wig off. One by one, ladies in the audience did too.

Don't you feel free now that the hair is gone? I know I did. I wore caps most of the time. I bought 3 wigs which were quite expensive and I didn't like them at all.
I never tried the scarfs but I think they look cool.

Kat I couldn't stand the wig either and hated the scarf and hats. I chose not to wear anything and I was amazed at the reaction of people. Everywhere I went, people came up to me and talked to me or smiled or acknowledged me. I loved it...so what I'm saying is wear that bald head proudly.

My DD is going thru that now. Her insurance paid for a wig. She has Tricare. A friend made several really cute bonnet type hats. The main thing is going outside in the sun. Even when it is not shining.

Hair is a hard thing for a woman to lose, but I bet you're cute as can be. Hope the chemo hasn't made you too sick and hope it's doing it's job!

thanks everyone. Vicki, I appreciate it, but I just wore a cotton hat on my morning walk, that my friend made me, and halfway through the walk, I was too hot! lol

Patti, I've been feeling good, not as awful as people were telling me I'd feel on this chemo. I've always tolerated the stuff okay, and that makes you wonder if it is doing anything! so for it to kill off my hair I actually feel like it's doing something! LOL yea! if it is killng my hair, it must be killing those bad cells!

Hey I know that is not the only place you are losing your hair! When I took care of mom I was shocked that her legs were shaved so clean and then I realized it wasn't shaving that took it. And what place were you thinking of??

Had a friend who got a bad hair cut many years ago. She had long pretty hair and the stylist turned her into Prince Valiant. Bless ya Kat. It's just hair is right...

kat..go to wal mart and check out the cotton scarves near the purses section...i had one for holloween that was a hoot..they're not as hot as a hat...oh don't forget sun screen!!

Take a look at do-rags. I had a friend going through the Chemo/shaved head issue and she bought cotton do-rags in beautiful colors, which were cool and looked good.

Just means the chemo's working. Hair will grow back....and I bet you're beautiful without it! My BIL looked good bald.His hair grew back in straight,he had curly hair before.

just sign my name to chubby rats post...it'll grow back and in the meantime think of that bald head as kicking that cancer's butt!!

You are right, it will come back, not like men who never get their hair back. Keep focused on the good-no coloring upkeep and no shaving your legs! I shave mine every day-hate to feel anything on them. A do-rag is a good idea! There are probably online resources too. But as for going without anything-I think the public will readily see you are battling cancer and they will be extra nice to you as sign of respect :-)
