For upcoming ALaskan cruise with GS.

Made it a point to put the battery charger in the suitcase, then planned to put the camera in my carryon.

Now I gotta umpack to find the camera duh

Won't be hard, I can do it!

It is there somewhere.

Senior moment.

We got an upgrade on our mini suite, today, YEA!

Have a great trip - save some salmon dinners for me, hope you find camera, and don't forget binoculars. (Like I did last trip!)

Make sure that you have a way to upkeep the power to your camera and other devices. The residential electrical power varies greatly in the places you mentioned. except for the USA, most of those places uses 50 hz, the US is 60hz. You will need a charger that is compatible with the power source of the country you are in, or use disposable batteries. The voltage of most disposable cells in the US is nominally 1.5 volts. However, many newer camera use Lithium-ion batteries that have a much higher voltage. I don't know if there are disposable cells made in these higher voltages. In this case, one alternative is to carry multiple sets of charged up rechargeable cells, and re-charge any time you get the opportunity. It would be a shame to be at a world heritage site with a dead camera. Naturally, when you are on the cruise ship, that power source will be constant, but do check to see what it is. Do not assume it is the same as state-side power. So click the camera all day and recharge when you return to the ship. When you leave the ship for a day, go with several sets of freshly charged batteries. Below is data from a 1967 booklet. Chinese provinces were not listed because travel restrictions were in place at that time. My SM #3 is this way PO1. She has a good heart but it annoys me to no end. She publically takes all the credit for us skids and our achievements but married my dad after I was an adult and all but 2 of our children were already born. She has just met my brother and his wife and their kids this past year for the very first time... She's been married to my dad for almost 10 yrs and has never met my brothers fam or even talked on the phone. Mostly because my brother was estranged from our father.... Anyway-- on Facebook she writes to my niece and brother and SIL, I am so proud of you, I love you and miss you!! And then she has some crap about 'interests' watching my children and grandchildren grow. I hope to have great grandchildren one day. She has one adult son that is estranged from her bc he is a jerk and he has no children. So the grandchildren would be our children. I personally haven't seen her in quite a while none of us have but she acts like she saw us yesterday. She was signing her cards to us 'momma(insert name)' and we are all adults. My sister finally said, please stop. We don't mind the kids picking a nickname for you like Nana or grams but we aren't calling you Momma. We have a momma and we don't know you that well. People always write on her fb 'hope your kids and granbabies are well. And I just wonder if they are confused.

I'd totally get the Viking and I don't think it's shallow to want a pretty fridge! Everyone who is remodeling their kitchen wants it to look nice, what's wrong with that? I have no evidence, but I bet those few cf are in the curvy front. I hate curvy front fridges for some reason. I don't really understand how people use so much refrigerator space anyway. We have a 30" fridge and it's full on Sunday after our grocery/Costco run, but empty by the end of the week cause we only buy what we can eat in a week. Save for a few bottles of salad dressing and condiments we have around, but how many of those do you need at a time?

I'm thinking RA is more likely, though. I woke up with pain in my wrists this morning, and I learned that the weird taste I've had in my mouth on and off for weeks could be an RA symptom, too I never had any taste symptoms, only bouts of extreme pain and stiffness, accompanied by severe swelling. The swelling comes from the immune system attacking the joint. Never chills with a flare. RA flares are so painful, it overwhelms. My first flares were in the shoulder....family Dr said it was probably Bursitis. This went on for years. When I finally got a DR to order a test for RF, it came back at 2300. Any idiot can diagnose that one, and I finally got treatment. I had a bad flare while out of town...wrist swelled up so bad, ER first thought it was broken. In fact, had a flare a couple of months ago, and even though I said it was a flare...insisted on an Xray. Only thing that can calm a bad flare for me is a shot of Demerol, and these days they are years apart. Now, with RA, morning joint stiffness is normal. When I get up in the morning, I have to pull myself on my feet by holding onto bureau, and the first few steps are excruciating. And my RA is under control :)

Getting an upgrade is great! You know you're spoiling GS, don't you? Next time he goes on a cruise he may have to have an inside cabin :-)

Don't forget to introduce him to Alaskan cole slaw. Are you taking the same route you took before or is this different?

Good luck on finding it. When DH and I went on a cruise to Hawaii, he didn't bring his camera charger. We ended up buying another charger in Honolulu. He also forgot to pack underpants. Luckily the ship's store had lots of Fruit of the Looms.

Just hope the trip with a 14 year old teenager goes well!

He has a teen program supposed to be terrific on the ship.

With or without the teen program on the ship, your grandson is going to have a fantastic time. He'll be with his grandmother, whom he loves very much, and he'll be on an awesome cruise. You're giving him a lifetime of wonderful memories.

My only recommendation is that he have his own camera, to be able to take photos of the different sights that he wants to remember and be able to show his dad and friends.

Oh man Glenda, I am beyond jealous. An Alaskan cruise is on my bucket list. As is a trip to Ireland. Have the greatest time. Lots of pics please. Be safe.

Here's a tip for anyone going on a cruise or vacation. Write down a list of what goes in all suitcases and carryons. Keep the list in your purse so you can refer to it during the trip. And when you're home unpacking, make sure everything on the list gets put away properly. I call it "reverse packing". I once made a list and used it for several years. Hey, travelling with two kids (any age) is not simple. And for stupidest goofs-when I was visiting family in Buffalo NY one winter, I left my winter snow boots in the motel. I placed them next to the TV, intending to wear them. Somehow I left without them. I called the hotel the next day but they couldn't find them. Who would (steal/ throw out) a well-worn pair of boots ?
