Remember with your blood counts dropping it will be hard to fight off germs, try to avoid crowds, especially anyone who is sick, purell like crazy, ask your family to use purell too...Sam's club sells these MEGAbottles of hand sanitizer.

Keep hydrated as much as possible - Chemo is tough on kidneys. Use biotene to keep your mouth from drying out.

The chemo is killing your blood cells and the neulasta will make them grow. It is a tough road.

(((Kat))) Its always good/better/best to be home. It sounds like you had a busy day Dr visit, dishes, laundry and shopping. I agree with everyone else. Let others do the tedious work. When you feel like being up and doing, do something you like to do, yes even if it is doing laundry or dishes. Just please don't over do. Eat, drink and be pampered.

Big Texas Hugs Kat. So glad to hear that the treatment went well. Be sure and just rest and take it as easy as possible. Don't go out if you don't have to while your count is low. Sending big time prayers your way.

Kat, I'm glad that you are doing well and at home. I've had many nulasta injections. I was warned about the bone pain and that it was often in the chest area. Patients would think they were having a heart attack.
I think I had that pain two times and it didn't last very long. It did built up my white cells to where they should be.

yes, I will have this treatment again around the 21st.
then start getting nupagen shots to make my baby bone marrow cells start to grow, then they harvest those,

Around July 26th I will start total body radiation 2 times a day for 4 days, then a day of chemo,, a day off , another day of chemo, then around August 2 they will put my cells back in my body, then the next day I will be in the U of W medical center for 3 or more weeks. I guess I will be pretty bad by that point. It is my own stem cell, so I should have a little easier time with infectins and host/graft rejection ets... then live up in Seattle for a month... then I'm on the road to recovery. Just trying to stay positive all the time so negativity doesn't run rampant in my subconcsious.

Kat, for whatever it's worth, my friend on chemo found the frozen juice slushies sold at juice stands were really helpful when she needed to eat and was nauseous. She had them add protein powder, fruits of her choice and yogurt.

Hope you sail through this quickly.

so you'll be up at u-dub?? been a very long time since we were there...all i remember were the boat-rowers and the university center and then, only a few coffee places...starbucks hadn't taken over the world yet...i do recall a store that sold nothing but fancy rice...wonder if it's still there...

look at it this way your drugs will have "attended" one of the best schools in the world...
