I met the most courageous lady today

We left Oregon this morning and headed to Olympia Washington. I have always wanted to meet this lady, who I have known at the KT for at least 13 years. We used to have so much fun on the old KT chat room.

After much calling back and forth I finally got to meet.....

I was so shocked when she agreed to let me post our picture at the KT. I figured there would be a fight over it and she would want to just show her left ear or something.

We gabbed and laughed for a couple of hours. It was so much fun. She is having surgery tomorrow afternoon at 1. We will go to the hospital to visit with her a couple of times while we are here. She will be in the hospital until Friday.

What a great picture of the two of you!! I don't blame Kat for letting you show it......if I looked that good I'd want my picture on the KT, too!

I just checked into a hotel with free wifi and had a chance to see this. George, it was my privilege to meet you! I'm so glad you were available on literally a last-minute's notice. And yes to those who wondered, I did get a photo of George standing in front of the museum. He wondered why I'd want to take a picture of an ugly old man. But I have no idea who he was talking about! The person in my photo (will post it when this long national nightmare of a road trip is over) is a strapping gentleman with a thatch of brown hair the color of my favorite chocolate bar. :o) I was very excited to learn of George's upcoming adventure to a special boyhood location. I hope he will tell us about it when he returns. And now I'm signing off until...I can find more free wifi. lolol Karen

Kat, I agree 100%, Susan is a very giving soul. It was a 2 1/2 hour ride up there but well worth it. Seeing her garden was such a treat. I saw stuff there both and plant and artwork that I'll probably not see again. I'm sorry I didn't photograph her nor David as this was the first time we met and I don't like to be too pushy..........some people hate having their photos taken. We will be visiting again for sure, soon as we have to get some of those fancy walkway stones! aroid, I will let Susan know you want info on the stones, I'm sure she'll be glad to share her method with you.

"digging in someone else's trash is a 'good thing'" cj, I just tell myself it's karma. When I was growing up, my mother had a friend who was a florist. One day when my mother drove by Celeste's house/shop, she saw a zillion pots of mums sitting at the curb for the trash man. Celeste told her that the plants had been forced to bloom for football corsages, & that she was finished with them; it was cheaper for her to buy new ones next year than to coddle these over-stressed plants.... & she told my mother to take all the plants she wanted. thought I was gonna die of embarrassment. Every night-before-trash-day, my mother found some reason to run an errand that, coincidentally, took her right past Celeste's shop, & she *always* went through the floral "trash". & would she *ever* go by herself? Noooooo...Sylvia had to go with her. I was mortified, & I swore I'd never do anything like that ever again. Karma hears you when you say things like that.

I never pictured Ann T older - but then I saw pictures of her quite a few years ago, and talking with her on the phone reveals that she is young at heart. I've always thought of Ann_T as being extremely sophisticated, which is not something I generally associate with a "homebody". And I've always found her attitude to be youthful - at least as youthful as my own, and I'm very immature for my age. I don't know where this older homebody image comes from, but then maybe I'm out of touch myself! I've met Ann Spacific, and she's always been a delight to be around. I wish I could have been on the Island with the two of you. I'm overdue a trip to Canada, and so maybe in the next year or two I'll make it back up to B.C. Yeaaaaa! Good for you Nita for being persistant! What a beautiful picture of the two of you ~ thanks for allowing it to be posted Kat LOL. Holding you in thought and prayer tomorrow ~ I'm so glad you have an ax murderer oops I meant imaginary friend oops I really mean friend to visit with you for a few days. Nice to see you both!

BEATIFUL pic!!! When I read the title, I knew Nita was in the area, and I just had a feeling it was with Kat! But...I too figured it would be her left foot or something! LOL

Wow, Nita! You are fast! lol Hi all. Thanks for your
kind words! Nita is so very nice, and her hubby is a
sweetie pie. My son came in to meet them too. They fed
him! (We met at a restaurant) It was very nice meeting
them both. It sounds like they have been having a blast
on their tour. They are headed north after here.
I hope they will post more pictures!

That is just a very LONG oblong scarf in light weigh gauze,
I just twisted the ends and wrapped them from back, twisted them in front and tied in back. really quick!
And cool.. I'm always hot! lol

Oh, And Vickey is knitting me a pair of socks! How sweet
is that? she is so nice, I can't believe I will get
to wear a pair of her gorgeous socks.

thanks everyone! after inpatient chemo and the surgery
to put in my hickman line, I get out of the hospital
on friday and start the crazy expensive nupagen shots.
They are supposed to cause pain, but I hope not! What do
"they" know, anyway! lol

Hey, Kat......I have heard that taking Claritin-D for a few days after the neupogen shot really helps with the bone pain.

I'm back from inpatient. More tired than last time, but no biggie! Thank you all, you are all too kind! lol
Nita and Mike did make it to the hospital, that was nice. I was a little cranky with some confusiona and frustration, but I got it all figured out. sorry they had to see me like that! lol

Glad to hear you made it through this phase ok, not much the worse for wear. You, cranky, Kat??? That would be just a little bit funny to see as you always sound so very sweet here. Very nice of Nita and Mike to visit you in the hospital; I'd like to think they represented all of us. :) Hang in there, girlie. You've got a lot of people pulling and praying for you!
