Low voltage garden lighting that mimics flickering candle light
Comments (3)You can buy the battery operated candles at Bed,Bath & Beyond, A.C. Moore's, Michael's, Plow & Hearth and they are wonderful. That is all we use anymore in our house. We live in a Sr. Citizens community and about 3 yrs. ago there was a bad fire in a garden apt. one windy Jan. night started by a plastic coffee maker being put on a burner that was on by mistake. A man lost his death because he went back into his first floor apt. to get some important papers and the ceiling from the apt. on fire fell on him and killed him. They had to tear the entire building down and rebuild it. Every since then, we only use the battery operated ones. They have some that are scented and the outside feels like real wax. They have a lot of hours of use, something like 100 or 500 before you have to replace the batteries. They are LED lights. Candles that come in lots of colors plus white and off white....See MoreHow do you Propagate Neon Flash Spiraea
Comments (4)It may be a little late, your seasons are shorter than ours, but give it a try. If you have bottom heat that would help, otherwise keep them in a fairly warm place about 70 degrees and cover with plastic to allow light but limit evaporation. Once rooted they are pretty fast growing, much faster than boxwood, probably about 3 years to a reasonable hedge. Al...See MoreFlickering lights and grounds not connected
Comments (4)I'm not sure that a washing machine or dryer or stove can visibly "flicker", but if most of the lights are flickering on many different circuits that's usually the indication that you have loose service feed wires somewhere between the meter base and the panel lugs. You need an electrician to check that out for you. Why does grounding your light switches make you uneasy? If a ground wire is too short, wire nut on a pigtail so it will reach. Hopefully box fill won't be a problem....See MoreDoes anyone else's LED recessed lights flicker??
Comments (15)We put in four Halo 4" recessed LEDs in the bedroom. They flickered with a Leviton Z-wave low voltage dimmer switch. I changed to a Leviton low voltage dimmer switch with a physical slider, and then it worked. The same model of Leviton dimmer works with 3 other pairs of Halo LEDs in the bathroom and closets. In our kitchen, we put in nine Halo 6" LEDs. With a GE Z-wave smart dimmer, it flickered horribly. We changed to a Leviton Z-wave dimmer switch, the same model that flickered in our bedroom, and it worked fine. We only realized it was the same model after we installed it and found that it worked... In our laundry room, we have two Halo 4" LEDs with a Leviton dimmer switch, the same model as in the bedoom. In the laundry room, the lights flicker. There's a separate identical Leviton dimmer switch, bought at the same time, with four identical Halo 4" LEDs that does not flicker. All wiring is new. LED lights and dimmers are a great mystery. My advice is to try changing the dimmer switch. What I've heard is that the Lutron pro series (that you can't buy at a big box store) works perfectly with basically all LED lights....See Moresuebdoo
