This is just a bit amusing to me. Not what Natanya went through at Hardy's, but just some thing that turned up on the net when I googled Hardy DL garden CT. What appeared to be an independent review of Hardy Daylily Gardens appears if you follow the link posted below. The review which was posted today no less has nothing but the utmost high regard for the owners of this establishment. I read through this whole thing and then looked at the links to the right of the review. To the right of the post you will see this link (Click Here to View Our List of Favorite Outdoor Plants to Grow in California). Anyway I went ahead and clicked on this and it takes you to Amazon.com and if you look to the right where it says about this Listmania author. Underneath you will see the name J. Hardy "expert", and below that "Plant Expert" Like I said above, I think it's pretty amusing that someone would right a review dated today in the wake of this unfortunate insident (and its repercussions by way of negative feedback), and when you follow the links it leads right to someone else whose last name happens to be Hardy. Hmmmmmmmmm. Could this have been written by a truly satisfied customer?? Maybe, but when you see the name at the Amzon site it does make you raise your eyebrows and wonder some. People do make mistakes and we all have bad days. If and when it happen you say you're sorry and get on with life and work a bit harder so the same thing doesn't happen again. It seems that 'hillbillyhosta = Hank' is not 'Hostahillbilly = HH = Mark'? HH did not post for many months, hope he is OK. Bernd Oops, my mistake, I beg your pardon, all the HH's whomevers. :) I blame Cindy on my lapse of control yesterday, and now I have another order (or two, and 2 auction bids.....sigh).

I didn't like the roads either. Our GPS led us astray and we came in the wrong way to the hotel Friday. We took a few dirt roads that we weren't supposed to and it was after dark. I wasn't driving, just giving advice to my husband. lol I was quite relieved when we finally found the hotel. I would hate to have to travel those roads every day to work, especially in the winter. I think if you went to Quigley's Castle only to see the plants, you would be disappointed. A rock hound would love it. It's the story that's interesting and the countless hours that were put into it. The lady that showed us around was a granddaughter of the lady that originally built the home and I think she lives there. Some of the rooms are shut off so you can't tour the entire home.

Sorry for the delay - all of our "official" floor plans are on giant architect-sized paper, not scanable with what I have here at home, so I just sketched one out. The walls are easy to identify but some of the notes I made aren't so easy to read, I apologize... if you have questions, I'll check back from time to time so I can answer them. At least it gives you an idea about the flow. The exposed beams are another idea we took from "Not So Big House." It gives a sense of separation between the living, dining and kitchen because it is all one room. It is nice to have den as an "away room" from the noise of the TV at times. carolyn53562, we used fir wainscoting in the downstairs bath. It was old - about 75 years - stored in my parent's garage all these years. They never used it and no longer wanted it. It was darker than some of the newer fir we bought because of its age. We just used a clear lacquer finish on it. The bay window is great for letting in morning light. The dining/island area could be a little dark without it, although it is nicely lit in the afternoon. I haven't made a cushion for that area yet, but anticipate it will be a nice reading spot when that's done. Last winter we did feel like we were living in a postcard! I love the quiet of snowfall... it was mud city when it melted though! Thanks again for all of your nice comments.
