Me thinks you meant Wednesday. LOL My birthday club is going to one of the Taverns in Williamsburg to celebrate a friends 80th birthday. She's lived here longer than me and like me, has never gone to a Tavern (Christiana Campbells). It should be fun.

On the day this is posted, it will be tender pressure cooked BBQ pulled pork piled high on white buns, fresh home cole slaw, big crispy crunchy pickles, plain flat potato chips served on a styrofoam plate. All waiting for the conclusion of Happy Hour of course. Got some Blueberries for a buck, which could be added to a Banana Split drenched in Chocolate.

I cooked several dishes today for future meals. Chose chicken and Stovetop, along with a potato and leftover creamed corn for tonight.

I think the rain has finally stopped for a few days here in Ohio, hooray. We got 3 inches last night.

It's been cold and gloomy here today, so I had pancakes for the evening meal, along with a fried egg.

another on and off rainy, humid day here. We just had pizza tonight.

I'm getting ready to have a crookneck, pattypan, zucchini, cukes, bean, rat's tail radish glut in the garden! Luckily, I don't get tired of eating them!

I made some pan fried zucchini patties, cuke and rat tail salad, and grilled a spatchcocked chicken. I used a lemon/olive oil vinaigrette on the salad and chicken....tasted great on the chicken with no other spices or herbs other S & P.

My sister put some pork in brine and cooked it .we had mashed potatoes with kraut over them mmmmmmmmmmm

Lol....it all must sound crazy if you don't know what those things are! Yellow crookneck is a very popular summer squash, available all year round in any grocery store. Pattypan is also a summer squash....they vary in color from white, pale green, yellow and are round and flat, like a saucer. Delicious.

The Rat's Tail radish is a true radish, but the edible part is the seed pod
not the root. Unlike typical radishes, rat's tails love the heat of summer. They were introduced to me several years ago, by my Korean neighbor.

I had to look up those names too, rhizo. The photos I found showed flying saucers that I've always known as just yellow and green summer squash.

I eat and enjoy almost everything - but I've never warmed up to any kind of squash. They all seem bland in taste. But anything right out of the garden is always at its best.

Summer squash of all kinds should be a staple for veggie lovers. No peeling or removal of seeds required, very low in calories, great raw, baked, fried, in soups and casseroles and a large variety of baked goods, grilled, steamed, and stuffed. Heck...you can stuff and fry the squash flowers!

It's also very good for you, packed with many hidden surprises and health benefits.

Most people like the mild, nutty flavor of the summer squashes. I grow several different varieties of yellow (straight neck and crook neck), zucchini and patty pan.....7 in all....and each are unique in flavor.

I am a veggie lover, and eating a wide variety of veggies, leafy greens and diverse salads are the norm.

I've never found a place in my heart for squash and I have tried. The ones that do have some but still a slight flavor (like acorn, butternut or pumpkin) I like the least.
