Nice sunny day, with temps in the low 70's. Did some work around the house and hubby cut the grass. We just finished eating some cabbage soup with a ciabatta cut in half, toasted and rubbed with garlic cloves.

This is our last day in Bar Harbor. The guys went out for a two hour cruise on a Windjammer and had a great time.

Dinner tonight pot roast, we are heading out for ice cream when Timm comes back from his walk.

Patti, thanks for the advice. They have been here many times but not with the 2 year old. I think a 11 hr car ride is just too much for someone that young. If they were flying from FL that would be different. Plus with my knee this bad I don't think I am up to it. We do have the room 3 bedrooms upstairs & a bedroom in the finished basement.
For dinner it was chicken parmesan with spaghetti & garlic bread. For dessert I made tiramisu.

I had a bowl of great northern beans and a slice of meatloaf. Also had some fresh red raspberries.

Beautiful here in Ohio today. I'd like to have 6 of these days a wk, with a gentle rain on the other day.

I fixed elbow mac with egg and butter. It was always what my mom fixed for any sick kids and it is what I always fixed my kids when they were sick. So far so good. Nita, love love pot roast and love Bar Harbor. Satine

I went to a great thrift store today, where most things were 1/2 off. I got one of those indoor electric grills for $4, so I got a couple of steaks to try out on it.

Got a late start watching the U.S. Open and am still watching it. I had some curried chicken salad left over so DH had that. I'll grab something when I finish watching the open.

Patti, I'm marking my calendar for June 2nd next year. A Bubba party sounds great! LOL

Jasdip, your low 70's temp. is beginning to sound pretty darned good, although most of the time I'd be a little chilly. Sounds like you had a very nice day.

Nita, pot roast sounds delicious. So does ice cream. You're going to miss Bar Harbor. I love all your pictures. Such a pretty area.

Mary, it's a shame you don't feel better, but if you don't feel like you can handle it, I'm sure your daughter will understand. You make the best desserts, Mary!

Shirley, I told Harry earlier I was making a meatloaf this week. The response was tepid, but it sounds good to me. I've been making a big one and dividing the raw mixture into two parts and freezing one. That way we aren't eating it forever and next time I want meatloaf--tada--ready to bake.

Satine, were you able to eat the rice last night and keep it down? Sure hope you're on the mend.

Jean, such a deal!! I donated my to Habitat's thrift shop and sometimes wish I hadn't.

Georgysmom, you can buy Bubba teeth on-line. They are the funniest things. When my niece got married my sisters and I dressed up like bridesmaids and wore Bubba teeth. I found the most atrocious bridesmaid dresses at a thrift shop in the mountains. One was bright orange taffeta or some kind of material like that. It had big puffy sleeves and way too may orange rosettes made out of the gown material on the top. Then we had a wedding procession out to their dock, where we posed for photographers :-)

About 90% of the ladies in my golf league (105 in all) have what is called a "Bubba" mug. You can buy them at Walmart, generally in the automotive dept. They hold 34 oz., they taper at the bottom so they fit in the cup holder of a car or golf cart and they keep your drink cold for eighteen holes. So a Bubba party would be just great for my golfing buddies.

Cheese enchiladas and pinto beans. The enchilada sauce is a green chile sauce.

Took family to Shady Maple, a fantastic Smorgasboard restaurant in Amish country.

Granddaughter loved the chocolate fountain, and made her own chocolate covered macaroons. I madea chocolate covered strawberry.

Entrees covered the gamut...and the baked cod and chicken cordon Bleu was my favorite today. The guys had the steak offerings.

Got my tapioca pudding for dessert, amaretto cake, and a red velvet chocolate cheesecake.

Needless to say...we literally rolled out of there.
