What's for dinner Monday?

I got a lot done today for a change. Got all the laundry for the week finished and put away except for the sheets and Harry was sleeping or I would've done them. Also cleaned the kitchen and the family room. I had to get a new steam mop and this time I got a Shark. I had a Haan and then a Haan knock-off. Macy's had the Sharks 50% off last week. Woo Hoo!

Tonight we're having fish--tilapia. I have a lot of rather small pieces so I'm tossing them in olive oil and bread crumbs. I'll bake them. I'll only take a few minutes. Well have a romaine/tomato salad to go with it. At the store yesterday I saw some toasted sesame wasabi salad dressing. I've been making my own, but this brand was on clearance and I love wasabi. The brand is Wild Thymes. Have you heard of it? It's all natural--no additives.

A day of doing a little of this and a little of that. Finished everything on my list.

My meal was 15 beans, home fries, and the last of the tuna salad.

Glenda, I think tomorrow's tuna will be the winner. Is there such a thing as too much mayo? ;-) Oh Shirley, I hope that ice storm passes you by. Enough is enough. Your dinner sounds yummy. Ruthie, halibut is one of my favorite cold water fishes. Cod is another. A salad along side would be plenty for me. Mimi boo, what time do you want us to be there for dinner. You know, just a "few" of us from the KT!! Raven, you're doing well sticking with the low carb diet. Good for you. Harry loved that diet!! Gosh, Phyllis that soup sounds delicious. Does it have cheese in it? Mary, I don't know how you can plan and cook to separate meals most nights, but I sure admire you for it. Both sound good tonight. Jasdip, we had a holiday today also--President's Day. What was yours? Looks like someone besides me caught the cooking/baking bug! Love shepherd's pie and was just thinking about it this afternoon.

Ellen chicken salad sounds delicious Shirley, Spanish rice sounds good. I make one version in the slow cooker, with ground beef. Sue, I like my fried egg sandwiches with tomato as well, and bacon when we have it. Kath, I used to like the Southwestern Salad from McD's. Haven't had one of them in a couple of years now. Raven, I love that skillet dish. One-dish meals are so handy. OF, as you said, frozen lasagna is way easier than making one from scratch! Pam you had what is the perfect steak dinner! Jim, veggie soup and lemon pudding! Yum! We're in for the high temps tomorrow as well with high humidity. 30C but feeling much hotter with the humidity.

Prairie Rose, do you barbecue all winter long, or was it because the weather was nicer today? Morz I love a well-done roast, and the slow cooker makes it easy. I also love cranberries in my salad. Have you tried them with roasted brussels sprouts? That's a favourite with us. Monica I made sweet potato fries last week and we loved them. The last time I tried baking them, they oozed out over my oven. I didn't realize they cooked so much faster than white potatoes. Rhizo, I love reading your dinner threads. You are so darn healthy! BLF, isn't it nice when a recipe from a fellow member turns into a keeper? Shirley, I wasn't sure if today classified as a "holiday" today (Family Day) so I made sure I roasted my vegetables before 5 pm to at least get the mid-rate hydro rate. I hate the smart meters. Moni, I add cheddar cheese to my broccoli soup. Probably negates any positive benefits of the broccoli, but it sure tastes good.

We had leftovers from Mother's Day. I was not too hungry so I just had a grilled chicken thigh and a piece of my black raspberry pie. Had leftovers for lunch too. The weather here today was fairly nice, great breeze a little sprinkle once in awhile and some sun was out too. Right now it is 71 outside. Sue in Central Indiana

Spent the day packing, off to the Florida rains tomorrow! Taking gd to Disney. Supposed to rain the entire time, always seems to no matter what time of the year we go! We will still have a fabulous time.
Grilled chicken breasts and ranch beans for dinner, nothing else in the house.

Gorgeous day today. Cool temps, only 15C. 20C is 68F, so you know how cool it was. I love it! LOL

We haven't had spaghetti in a long time so that was dinner tonite. With homemade meat sauce from the freezer. Since I had to scrounge to find it, I obviously need to make some more. But my freezer is full :(

LuAnn, that sounds really good. Glad you mentioned rice, because I had some in the frig and needed to use it. I grated some cheddar, added it to the rice with a splash of milk and microwaved it. It was good!

Shirley, I should make a list and stick to it. I go in waves instead of doing a room a day or something like that. Bet you were hungry after getting your list finished!

Terilyn, it rarely rains all day this time of year. Usually a late afternoon shower, but it doesn't last long. Bad part is it gets really steamy humid if the weather is very warm. Hope you have a wonderful and safe trip.

Jasdip, I'd freeze to death in Canada :-) I know what you mean about freezers. I'm really trying to use as much meat as possible before we go on vacation. But both freezers seem full no matter how much I use out of them. I haven't bought meat for probably a month.

I painted my front porch today and I am worn out. Dinner was sushi that I picked up at the grocery store.

It was a long, tough day at work & I worked late. DH is out of town, so I just went by Whole Foods (after not getting any lunch) & ate at their hot bar. Tried little bits of several things. I'm glad to be home with the cat curled up next to me, but still have to get some more work done before bed.

Hounds, great minds think alike. We really like tilapia; it's such a nice, mild fish.

Linda, I'm surprised you weren't too tired to even think about dinner. Bet you sleep really well tonight.

Kittiemom, sorry it was a hard day at work. Wish we had a Whole Foods here. I've never been in one, but they sound neat. Sounds like a cozy evening at your house.
