What Have You Been Doing Today?

I went to some rummages today. I bought a bag of four new tennis balls for Randy's dog Duke, for a quarter, two books for a quarter each and a big white basket along with several Easter baskets, grass and eggs. I only wanted the big basket to make up a flower arrangement for the church. The rest will go into Amber's rummage sale when ever she has it. When we got back I helped her pick the rest of the cherries from her little trees. I brought them home to clean. I had over a quart bag of them and I put them in the freezer. I will get them out on Saturday and bake a pie for Father's Day. I also made about 5 pounds of ground chuck into patties and froze them for Father's Day grilling. My black raspberries are ripe and Cheryl and Kevin have picked a couple of times for me. It is a busy time. What have you all been doing today?

Working, mostly, but I did take off an hour this morning to go with my oldest step-daughter to look at a house that is for rent in a town about 3 miles from here. It is a cute little house and I think they're going to get it, because she texted me and told me we have to go curtain shopping next week!

Well, DS and I trimmed a couple little trees, I got a bunch of groceries, hung out towels and sheets, beautiful day here, and we just ate supper, chicken on the grill.

What have I been doing today. Well, at 8:00 I had a dentist appointment, at 9:00 I had a Vet appointment to get Georgy up on all her shots so she can go to doggy camp tomorrow, at 10:00 I had to go to the library and pick up some books I had on hold, then I went to the indoor outlet mall, then the outdoor outlet mall, Walmart's, Kmart, and the second library to pick up another book, Kohl's, Target, Belk's and then because Georgy was such a sport about it, PetSmart so she could browse and smell everything in sight. At 1:00 I had an appointment for a haircut, got some gas stopped at a friends house to drop off a book and then I returned home at 2:30. I sat down and rested for a while, Just finished vacuuming the car and loading up my clubs and suitcases. For dinner, there's not enough clam chowder (I think DH had some for lunch) so we will have some pizza. I am not messing up my kitchen. Then, I will tidy up our bathroom, vacuum upstairs and go to bed. I always say I never feel like I need a vacation until I get ready to go on one. It's all that running around tying up loose ends that does it. Now I need one!

I'm pooped right now and happy to be crusing the web. Took a 60 mile round trip to get some flooring for the bathroom this morning. About noon took dd out to ground work with her horse. She's been working him in the small pen and doing well. TODAY THO, he seemed to be doing well again, so we put on the saddle, lunged him in a few circles. DH said he would ride him first. OMG, the horse jumped up and down, all four feet off the ground about ten different times, his back curled up like a 'C'. Thank goodness dh isn't afraid(LIKE I WAS WHILE WATCHING)and had the horse walking around shortly after. I've been in extreme adrenaline mode ever since. Worked very well while I cleaned the entire garden/horse shed. Cleaned some of the house and did some laundry, including the big stuff from the labradors big bed. Youngest dd helped me a good deal today, I'm thankful. While the oldest called and said she ran the mile at her track meet in 6 mins and 35 seconds. Thats super good for her, she's more of a cross country runner at heart. Waiting now for her to come home and finish her homework so she can go to an "Amazing Race" meet at our local college Sunday. I wish it wasn't so windy, Dh cleaned the grill, put on a new propane tank. Steaks sound good. (That horse better watch out from now on....hehehhe) Time to take a shower, I think I have sand all over my head from when the horse was bucking, tossing sand every where.

Today hasn't been a very productive day for me. I dropped the dog off the groomers, come home to wash her blankets and mop the kitchen floor. I wanted to get a shower then get a manicure and pedicure afterwards BUT the groomer called and I had to go get the dog. Her left ear is really infected and she needed to go to the vet. Call vet, went and got her off to the vet. Vet had to shave her ear inside, flush with meds and dig finally after all that she is home with meds and needing to go back in 2 weeks. Then off to see DS, left him then I am thinking I will go home get a shower and I will go for the manicure. NO, I decided while I was in the shower that since I am going to put pj's on WHY bother to get dressed and leave the comfort of my home. SO, after all that I was feeling somewhat sore and decided to watch tv in bed, after my nap, I fed the dog, made a double batch of brownies, packed DH's lunch for tomorrow (since he is at a meeting til about 8 tonight), made myself a lettuce, tomato and cheese sandwich with mayo and waiting for brownies to cool off, I gotta taste them before anyone else!!! Now, I am back in bed, still having pain. Tomorrow hopefully I will get the manicure and pedicure :-) Deb

It was Monday... I was greeted at work with a squealing computer power source/surge protector. We'd lost power in every electrical outlet one on side (the library side) of the building. I ran extension cords to power the suge protector and my library computer so I could work until my boss decided what to do. 22 kids came to story time. This is the best part of my job! Today we read about imagining what we could be when we grew up then drew our adult selves on the sidewalk with chalk. I'm going to be a cowgirl.... Then some patrons came in to use the computers. These two are regular abusers. I have two computer stations. She uses one of the libraries machine. He parks his butt in the other patron computer station and uses his laptop. And they will stay there forever. Even though I TOLD them we were having electrical problems the guy said 'oh I can plug here' and pulled the power to the library computer. Good thing I back up every day! My library software is corrupted. I can't access books or patrons. As husband would say 'I'm dead in the water' I called tech support. It seems our subscription expired June 30, 2009. Lots of people visited today and checked out books. I wrote down names and barcode numbers (about a hundred books), emailed my boss and put it all in his lap and came home. Now I am editing and uploading photos. Lori

It was a busy day and I'm tired. I woke up early so around 5 I started doing laundry. By 8 I had both loads washed, dried, folded and put away. Vacuumed the Fla. room and kitchen and then used the steam cleaner on them. Cleaned the outsides of the appliances. I half-heartedly cleaned out the frig. Got all our clothes laid out ready to go in the suitcase for our trip this weekend. I also cleaned out the basket we use to hold our magazines. It was totally out of control and now I have four bags full ready to take to the nursing home.

Now it's time to start dinner. We're easy tonight. Just having grilled hamburger patties and tomatoes with cottage cheese.

It has been thundering for about 3 hours and now I see it's raining, but just a fine mist. We need a good downpour.

I've already broken my promise not to grip about the heat. In the last 5 days, we've broken the heat record twice and tied it once. It was 102 yesterday. Arrggg!

I went to water aerobics, then shopping at Wally World. After lunch I took a nap and now have dinner cooking, a cool pasta salad. It is very hot here. I am keeping my fingers crossed we don't get rain or a storm this evening during the band concert in the park.

I did laundry early this morning, then picked the remaining apricots and prepared them for freezing.I also put six bags of ripe tomatoes in the freezer, picked okra and some green onions to share with our 91 year old neighbor. Okra is his favorite food! Watered the garden and the plants in the front yard, then prepared dinner (pork chops, potatoes, steamed broccoli and salad). No wonder I'm tired! LOL

My days always start around noon as far as getting anything accomplished. No, I don't sleep all morning. My joints don't cooperate and it takes hours to get going.

So around 1 o'clock I went into town and looked around at the new thrift shop. It is really nice, clean and everything displayed neatly. Didn't buy anything though.

Then I went to Sharp Shopper and found my favorite soft drink (Cheerwine) 2 twelve packs for $2.50. Got 2, plus celery, bread, Texas Toast, and a half gallon of milk. The price of milk has increased another 10Â¢.

Then I went to KMart for TP and Aleve (generic). Checked my blood pressure: 117/56/68. Next to $Tree for batteries then to BigLots but only bought a big bag of Tootsie Midges. Not a big shopping day, but the first chance I've had to ramble for a couple months.

Next stop was at Bank of America to close out my account there, and then took the paper work to DuPont Credit Union where I had already opened an account.

Last stop was Krogers for some groceries.

I was tired and thirsty so I just sat on the porch and had a cold Cheerwine. Then a friend stopped by and we chatted until after 8 o'clock.

Finally I made myself a left-over tuna salad sandwich, and made tea for tomorrow.

Watched the news and here I am on the PC, at the KT.

Tomorrow I won't be any good for anything!!

Left the house at 8:00 to go play golf. Finished golf around 1:30 and went shopping for some new golf shirts. They don't look so good after one season. Not that I don't continue to wear them, but I'm playing in a member-guest at another club tomorrow and wanted to look a little nicer. Came home, showered, dressed and went out to a cocktail party. I just finished hemming my new top because they seem to make them so long now. Will press it and then I'm off to bed because I have to be at the course by 7:45 tomorrow...... Another long day in store for me.

Did a load of laundry. Read a book that's due back at the library today. Filled the birdbath. Filled the hummingbird feeders. Watered deck pots. Sold gold stock, bad move because...it kept going up, up, up. :0)
