I have been outside most all day. The girls were planting some garden for me, finally. I rode Alyssa around a lot as she really loves to ride on it. Supper for me was sloppy Joe sandwich and some apple sauce. Iced tea to drink. I am ready to get cleaned up and be ready for bed. Grocery shopping tomorrow.

We've had so much rain, Patti. I wish we could send you some of ours your way. However, yesterday was a beautiful day and much appreciated since it was our member guest day. The ladies that ran the tournament did a great job. Last night we played Mexican train and though my friends tried to tempt me into playing golf today, I took the day off and got lots done. I did five loads of wash...mostly sheets and towels, (stripped the beds, washed and ironed the sheets and remade beds) and I got caught up on my ironing.

We're just having roast beef sandwiches with blue cheese dressing and a little cole slaw on the side.

I went very simple.....ham, green beans and potatoes. Had a side dish of cottage cheese and peaches.

My aunt never had any children, so when she passed away several years ago, my sisters and I went through some of the very few items she owned. We took what we wanted. The only thing I wanted was a set of pink glass dessert dishes. The outsides have the pattern of cupcake liners. They've sat in my cupboard all this time. Finally, it hit me "what a waste", so I am now using them for foods such as my cc/peaches. Gives me a little lift every time I use them.

We still have coolish temps, and for the next few days. I absolutely love it. Still under 68F (I'll make it easier for you instead of posting our C temps). The days have been sunny but we're supposed to get several days of rain starting tomorrow.

Last nite we had pulled pork sandwiches out of the slow-cooker roast I made on Sunday. I made some coleslaw to put on and alongside.

Tonite I sliced sausage, browned them and sauteed chopped onion and cabbage. Leftover boiled potatoes that I reheated.

Well it is raining again today & they say tomorrow too.
I did my good deed today. A friend of ours husband died 1 1/2 years ago. She did not know how to drive so I offered to teach her. At that time it was 1 month after our daughter died so I thought it would give me something to do besides thinking of Liz. I did not think it would take this long for her to learn & today was her 2nd attempt for the license. Well she got it & I am happy for her.
For dinner hubby had tuna fish sandwiches & I had my trusty shells.
Patti, the hamburgers were good. If I bought watermelon hubby would be eating it for 2 weeks as I don't eat fruit.

Took a bag of bean and ham soup out of the freezer, and made muffins as I was short of bread. Tasted pretty good.....I love being able to grab a bag of soup out of the freezer.....sometimes it's a gamble if I haven't marked them, but I only freeze ones that I like, so that's OK.

Georgysmom, I'm glad you had a pretty day for your tournament. You really worked your fanny off today. You ironed sheets? You must like to iron. Your dinner sounds good, too.

Shirley, I know what you mean about not using our stuff. I only use mine at Thanksgiving. What a waste. I should get them out. They need a good washing, anyway.

Hi, Jas!! 68 is a cold winter day here. Glad you're enjoying it, though. Pulled pork works well in the crockpot, doesn't it? Tonight's dinner sounds good, too. I was thinking along those lines, but it just wasn't thrilling me this morning.

Mary, I'm so sorry about your losing your daughter. That would be almost too much to stand. Glad your friend finally got her license and I bet she is, too. As far as the hamburger goes, I never buy really lean. These were pre-formed from Sam's. I should send your DH some watermelon--haha!

Phyllis, I love freezer meals, too. I took an inventory last week and I have 4 or 5 soups. One is bean and bacon. I'm saving that for a special occasion :-) I love bean soup.

Hounds, I bought some ground turkey just to make meatloaf with. Haven't done it yet. Glad yours turned out so good.

Patti, I don't really like to iron, but I do love the look of the sheets when they're freshly ironed and back on the bed. Sometimes I get lazy and just put them back on the bed, but mostly I like to iron them. Always, always iron them for guests.
