Did Harry add salt and pepper to his buttermilk :o)

Condo friend is out of school for the summer, so we went to my son's favorite bbq place SAWS!

I had their 3 rib pork sandwich with white bbq sauce on the side. Huge ribs. Didn't eat the bread, didn't need it.

We finished the afternoon by stopping in at Yogurt Twist, and I had their salted caramel and it was devine.

Pam had a combination of the salted caramel, chocolate, and vanilla bean.

ummm, maybe not salt but just pepper, as I do remember my father adding pepper to his warm cornbread and buttermilk.

Glenda, I have never heard of salted caramel, but I would be willing to try it. Patti, you worked too hard today! We are having ham steak on grill, leftover baked beans and fresh potato salad.

Had a big salad and catfish, fresh from the bayou.

Think it will be pulled pork BBQ sandwiches. We still have some leftover taco meat, but doubt DH will go for that! That cornbread still sounds yummy (minus the buttermilk).

I have also had salted caramel candy and fro-yo before-very good!! There is a new yogurt place here that my kids want to try. I've been trying to avoid it in case it's too tempting! I don't need help in that department!

I had two baked potatoes left over, so I sliced them up and fried them in butter. Made a bunch of fried onions, yum, and sausages. Had some rice in the frig that needed to be used up, so nuked that as well. Carb-heaven!

Glenda, I've been so hungry for some good smoked pork lately. My favorite is from Vandy's in Harry's home town in Georgia. I crave it sometimes :-) Oh yes he did put cracked pepper on his buttermilk/cornbread. It looked pretty good.

Pam, I didn't work nearly as hard as I should've. But I made a dent. I don't ever have clutter because it drives me nuts, but this house could use a good deep cleaning. Ick! Your dinner sounds good--couldn't cook out here tonight if we had the gas to do it. It is pouring down rain. Woohoo! I've never done a ham steak on the grill, but I'm thinking it's in my future (if we ever get more gas for the grill). :-(

Marilyn, I could eat fresh catfish every night. I bet it was delicious. How did you cook it? I don't know what else to do with it but fry it, but I guess you could treat it like any other fish. We used to go fishing and come home and have a fish fry. I sure miss those days. Whatever we caught got put in the fryer.

We had french toast and iced tea. I have been working outside most of the day in the garden. It is looking pretty good. No rain though so I have been watering it.

I had a one egg cheese omelet, home fries, and made a salad with the artisan lettuce: celery, radishes, carrots, onions, blueberries, grapes, and walnuts.

Left-over scalloped potatoes, cole slaw and left-over Pork chop with mushroom sauce. I'll probably force down a serving of Edy's Butterfinger ice cream....

I have sour-cream and pineapple muffins in the oven now. That will be our dessert.

Teresa, I used leftover taco meat in stuffed zucchini. Scoop out the seeds and put a lot of the pulp in with the meat--shoot, now I can't remember the rest of it. But if you're insterested, I have it someplace.

I just love fried potatoes. I wish I could make them as crispy on the outside and soft in the middle like mom did. Sure sounds good. I keep looking at your pineapple muffin recipe and thinking I need to make them. The recipes sounds so, so good!

Phyllis, I haven't checked your post about your eyesight, but I've sure been thinking about you all day. Hope all is well with you. Be still my heart--I didn't know Edy's had a Butterfinger ice cream. I try to avoid the ice cream aisle, but it's hard when it's so hot outside.

Shirley, that's on heck of a salad. It sounds sooo good! So does the omelet. I'm about ready for breakfast for dinner.

I have currently in the oven baked cheese ravioli in roasted garlic parmesan sauce and a fresh loaf French bread that I will make garlic bread to go together.

We had a really nice rain shower here this morning. My DH made a gravel retriever for on the back of his tractor. He came and picked it up after work tonight and took us out to our little bar and restaurant in our town of 50 people. I had a deluxe hamburger and Dh had a porkchop and fries.
We also went and voted in the primary election.
