Nah, you're not a lazy bum. You just have better things to do than match socks. I'm sure you've done it dutifully for more years than you want to think about.

So maybe don't toss them. Put them in the Salvation Army (or whatever) boxs.

They are all prety worn...that's really why we bought new ones,I just made sure they match! LOL!

I hate leftover socks myself..and try being in my house with all men....and different size feets!!!

I've got to remember which brand is who's..LOL My oldest is always stealing his fathers socks, and when his feet were smaller MINE! Then he also stuffed his feet into the middle ones socks..who's feet are tweeners..so mens smalls are to big, but kids larges are to small.

Right now I think the little one has the most socks..cuz he gets new...and hand me downs too...LOL

But back to leftovers...I keep leftovers for about 3-4 weeks, and if their mate hasn't shown in that time they get used as a dusting cloth on the TV's and then into the trash..LOL

You hate matching socks???

Where do you buy unmatched ones?.....snicker....

But, but, if she gives them to the SA, she would have to match them up first!

I guess this should go on the reuse thread, but I just recently realized that one sock ( and I only wear white) is great for cleaning up spots on the carpet, instead of using paper towels. They can be washed after using and used again.
So I won't be throwing them away any more until they are actually worn out all over.

It is just DH & Myself, and I buy the sox he likes, all in white and mine too. so don't have a problem with matching, when one gets a hole in it, it goes in a box till another one does, them match the survivors as a pair. I wish I could remember the name of a celeb, who said he figured he finally "made it" when he was rich enough to only have to wear a pair of sox only once. He could always put on a new pair. A new pair does feel good, don't they? Dottie

I had an unmatched sock bag for years. It got ridiculously huge. I remember how liberating it was to finally toss it.

My son and his 2 teen age sons lived here a few mos. last summer. DH works out daily, so he had a pair to add to the confusion. After they moved out I discovered I had no socks left, so I went to Wal-Mart and bought Hanes socks w/ the pink heel. No man gets my socks now. It was like solving a puzzle w/ 5 pairs of socks a day.

I have to deal with 5 pairs of socks - all different sizes!

It makes me nuts!

I have a basket of "Lonely and Looking" singles. After a while I toss L&L's. Then low and behold, their mates show up, and end up in the L&L basket....it is a vicious circle.

I do the buying of the same kind and color so that I do not have to worry either...but believe it or not...my husband always ties his socks together before he puts them in the laundry basket...When I do laundry, I just untie them and toss them in...no socks lost..

I have a huge basket of socks that need to be matched. All sizes from the babies to my husband. I really need to sit down one of these days and match them up. Right now I just grab a couple of socks and hope that they match close enough.

My husband likes to wear Argyle (plaid) socks. I buy him about ten pairs a year. He's always losing one at a time. I have about twenty odd socks hidden in a drawer. Last week I found a brown one UNDER the washing machine. How it got there I don't know. Must be a match there somewhere!

Way to go. I just suggested that to DS. When I find a pair I like I buy loads of them all in the same design.
