Readers... I Have Books to Give Away........

Lot 1 Nonfiction:

Lot 2 Fiction, could be divided into 2 lots if there is a lot of interest:

Lot 3 Teen and preteen titles:

Lot 4 Teen and preteen titles:

I am giving these away for free, they'll be shipped media mail (if you want to reimburse me for the postage, that's fine.. if not that's okay too.. none of the lots should cost too much to mail anyhow). If you've already read some of the titles, you can mention that and I'll put them in one of the other lots. The teen books would mostly just interest girls.

Just reply to this post which lot you are intested in. If several peeps are interested in the same lots, I'll draw out the 'winner'.

This is an interesting thread! To keep or not to keep! Hard decisions to make. When I first started quilting 35 years ago, the intent was for all children and grandchildren to get a quilt. That got done and then I did about 5 or 6 for myself. And some of those first giftees have received seconds. And if someone asks, they will get another. But... I am retired, unable to be really physically active, don't travel, so spend a lot of time at the machine. My sister told me about her group that makes lap sized quilts for chemo patients. So that has become my project as well. Now I don't make art quilts or show quilts but I try to make something that I think will be appreciated by someone in need of comfort., and not just done slapdash but with thought and care. I have personally given about 10 to people I know, have taken well over a dozen to the Cancer Clinic and many have gone to the Save the Children Bazaar to be taken by anyone who needs one. I feel that I have been blessed with 'so much' that it is my privelege to be able to share. I understand the desire to keep what we have put heart and soul into making. No disrespect intended for anyone who feels this way. But for me, I would rather try to give comfort to someone who needs a hug, than fill a shelf in a closet. Off the soap box! Oh I see you have them in lots! I'd be happy to pay the postage on just the one book if you don't mind splitting it???? If not that's ok too...someone else can have the whole lot. :O)

Have you read the sequel to "A child called it"? It's called the Lost boy,very good as well.

Yes I have....and a few of the follow up ones as well. I loaned them all out to an old neighbor and never got them back. After she moved I realized she never returned my books. I love that series and wanted to collect them again. It was a sad, sad life for David Peltzer, but he did well as he grew up. Very good books!

My granddaughter will be 13 soon. She reads everything. Her favorite reading material the last several years is a set of encyclopedias her mom bought for her. I bet she'd love some books.
