tell me about giving away iris for postage
Comments (6)I do postage for extra Iris a lot. this is what I require from the sender! I only use the Priority boxes, they get there faster and I know the exact postage for each size of box. 1- Postage--money order or cash no checks. 2- A return address label 3- A note reminding me what the postage is for. sometimes I have more than one offer going on and with the note I do not have to hunt up the posts to figure out what one is what. After I get the postage "THEN" I send off the box. I then let the sender know that I got there postage and there box is on its way to them. I cut them back roots and tops, clean out the dirt and let them dry for a few days. Hope this helps. Gayla...See Morejapaneese morning glories.. Give away free

Comments (5)These scion were just cut this morning. Rather than throw them in the trash, I figured I'd offer them up here. I use a cleft graft which I have 80-90% success rate although it's not an efficient use of buds. The shiraniu scion had 12 buds, so in theory I could have done 12 bud grafts, but since I did cleft grafts I only got 3 grafts done. Just send me your address on the email I left on the first post and I'll divi them up based on how many response I get. I'll probably send them out on Monday since it looks cool for the rest of the week. Steve - I don't think there is a way to contact people either. Comments (13)This is an interesting thread! To keep or not to keep! Hard decisions to make. When I first started quilting 35 years ago, the intent was for all children and grandchildren to get a quilt. That got done and then I did about 5 or 6 for myself. And some of those first giftees have received seconds. And if someone asks, they will get another. But... I am retired, unable to be really physically active, don't travel, so spend a lot of time at the machine. My sister told me about her group that makes lap sized quilts for chemo patients. So that has become my project as well. Now I don't make art quilts or show quilts but I try to make something that I think will be appreciated by someone in need of comfort., and not just done slapdash but with thought and care. I have personally given about 10 to people I know, have taken well over a dozen to the Cancer Clinic and many have gone to the Save the Children Bazaar to be taken by anyone who needs one. I feel that I have been blessed with 'so much' that it is my privelege to be able to share. I understand the desire to keep what we have put heart and soul into making. No disrespect intended for anyone who feels this way. But for me, I would rather try to give comfort to someone who needs a hug, than fill a shelf in a closet. Off the soap box! And as Lois and I agree, quilting keeps us out of the bars. Theresa...See MoreMy3dogs ME zone 5A
