Has anyone seen Frog today?

I was up nearly all night editing photos so I didn't get to sleep till about 5am.

When I awoke at 11am I looked for my buddy Frog, but I couldn't find him.

I asked Jan and she said she had been out running some errands and she didn't know either. She said when she went out Frog was messing around in the utility room and when she got back he was gone, but he left a note saying he was borrowing some tools to go to work..Said he would be back later.

It's now 4pm and I am getting worried,,where is my buddy Frog?

Ditto Maggie. In in his first year or so our rooster charge me a couple of times. He hasn't since. Now he's nearly 2. I always keep an eye on him. When I first let them out in the morning and he's especially active, I always have a garden tool in hand. When the chickens are following me across the yard I will walk facing him--I don't trust him though he hasn't touched me for several months. When grandkids visit, the roosters are in the pen. You can't be too careful. Sometimes I think it would be easier not to have roosters but they are beautiful and they are part of the natural order (however "natural" their lives are). And this rooster is great with his girls. AS far as agression, our head hen is much more agressive than the rooster. This morning one of the pullets was in the egg laying place (of course the nesting boxes are ignored) in the corner and Hera just kept pecking at the pullet's neck. The pullet almost looked like she was in the submissive position but didn't leave the spot until the egg was layed.

Was at L's yesterday trying to buy wood-crafting tools they don't even sell (go figure!) and the few TC's left were on clearance. The $10 were $5 and the $3 plants were .50. Although there were several bigger ones with white, very white flowers, even I couldn't rationalize such a purchase with the present-budget. So I got 7 little .50 ones with the lightest colored buds. For $3.50, worth waiting for a year to see what they open to, assuming all of these buds will fall off as I'm expecting. I also picked up all of the broken pieces from the floor & stuck them in the tray. A few look promising, and total mysteries regarding flower color. Now, where in the world am I going to put these things? I'm pretty sure I'll be cutting more/bigger holes in the sides of hanging baskets & sticking them in those. Seriously no room for any more pots!

Artemis, you helped me so much around this time last year, when I was considering the F&P fridges, too! Thank you. We, too, put off buying the fridge until we'd saved up more money. Now I am ready to order the french door RF201ADUX model, but lo and behold, there's a new model on the market. The RF195ADUX1 looks almost exactly the same but is $200 more expensive, and it's not clear what I'd be getting for the extra money. The newer model actually has .8 cu.ft less storage space in the fridge section (14.6 versus 13.8) so it seems like I'd be getting less. I have to decide by tomorrow because the only place I can buy it from -- the only store in this area that will replace the fridge if it's damaged during delivery -- has just one older model left in stock and F&P won't accept orders for it anymore. Should I buy the new one or the old one? Does anyone know what is better about the new one?

Just a quick update. We've been to the vet. He did an Xray to confirm heart problems and said that Ginger is Stage 3. According to the vet, this is not too late for medication to give her a good quality of life, although it certainly can't cure the problem. He put her on three medications. One to strengthen her heart. One to lower her blood pressure. One which is a diuretic and she is taking a fairly high dose for several days, and if her coughing goes away he will slowly reduce the amount until it seems right. The medication caused diarrhea the first night. She is still having the spells where her legs give out and they are worse than they were at the beginning. We haven't even taken her outdoors lately. I put puppy pads by her bed, and sometimes just the effort of climbing out of the bed to use the pad will bring on a spell. The vet seems to think that will improve. I hope so because it scares her when it happens. It scares us too, but it's her we're worried about, not us. We hate to see her frightened like this. We are holding on to hope for a little bit, but we won't put her through this indefinitely. Only a little while, as the vet seems to think there is hope and says today's meds are really good. He did say that her tongue is nice and pink and that is a good sign, compared to when the tongue turns bluish for lack of oxygen. Of course, he also reminded us that at 15 1/2 years of age, she is quite elderly and medicine is not expected to keep her feeling good (even if it gets her that way at all) indefinitely. My heart breaks for her. I will let you know how she is doing again later on.

Uh oh, Frog going out with tools - that can't be good. He's got plans. Frogs are not noted gardeners, but they have often been found in gardens and flower beds hunting and hiding to avoid being the hunted. It could be he's playing "whack-a-worm" with the spade.

I heard a rumor that Miss Piggy is single again. Yep, she dumped Kermit. So could it be that....naw, surely not. I just hope he isn't trying to build something! Hope the big guy came home--and with a darned good excuse for MIA so long.

I wonder what will show up next.
Lazypup has created quite an interesting, on-going, saga. Anxious to see he has done.

Isn't it mating season for frogs? Could be that he took the propane tank and is cooking up Junebugs for all the "ladies" at the pond.

Frog finally came in about 9pm last night and he was wore to a frazzle...had a quick supper and went straight to bed.

The morning he was out before daylight,

Jan says,"You know that when you give him his $1 allowance he has been having me save it for him..This morning bout 10am he hopped in and said he needed his money, and hopped right out again, didn't say what it was for."

I said, "Maybethem women are right, maybe he is courting a lady frog?"

Jan says,,"Nay, nothin like that, you know we have at least a dozen female frogs here in the house and he barely pays attention to any of them, save for the little blonde haired one, he seems to like her."

"Yea, I know, I asked frog if he had a girlfriend and he said HELL NO..."

When I asked him why he says,,"do you know how many kids them female frogs make at a time? If you think I am paying child support for a mess like that, your nuts!!!!"

What?? No 'splainin' where he'd been and what he'd been up to all day? Pleeze--you'd better keep your eagle eye on that boy! I still think it's a female that wore him to a frazzle. We're like that, you know!!

Could be Frog's building a summer hut, some place where he can lounge and wait for hapless flies to go by - Zap! One less fly! You did not perchance see a chase lounge appear, one made with PVC tubing like his chair. The lounge may have cup holders. And look out for a matching sized umbrella underfoot in the garden. He needs the umbrella when the sun is high overhead, and when the sprinklers turn on. Wait a minute - isn't water a natural for frogs? Well, maby this frog is different. His covering might shrink.
