Pictures of my children.... (4 photos)

When I first came to the Kitchen Table, my sons were 9 and 8 years old and my daughters were 3 and 1 month old. These pictures are from this weekend....

My son (Janson- the tall one)and my step-son (Cason) graduated this past weekend. They are both going off to college in the fall. I'm so proud of them and of the girls as well.

This one is of Janson and his girlfriend, Jillian. She graduates from a different school tonight.

Next is a picture of the boys with Samantha. She's 13 now and earned top student in her class of 279 this year. She's growing up so much!

And finally, our "baby" Summer. We took her to see Ringling Bros. Circus for her 10th birthday last month. This was her favorite clown.

I like the purple chairs too, very much. The particular shade of purple you chose is rich and beautiful, but does not jar the eye. I like the idea of a purple chair overgrown with some beautiful vine, as though the owner had slipped off through a secret door and would come back a few moments later to find that three years had gone by. You can tell I am addicted to fairy tales. I also understand the urge to do something new with your garden, and I like the idea of the arbor and bench. After all, gardening is a craft that by its very nature invites change. If we wanted to work in a medium that stayed done when we finished it, we would take up quilting or woodcarving or welding. I don't know the names of the murderer and the murderee, but I know they were married. They appear in quite a few photos taken before I was born, when my parents lived in the Village. I don't think they show up, or at least not often, in pictures taken after my parents moved to Queens, so they were probably neighbors in the Village. Yes, both my parents had a great sense of humor. They had a good time with their many friends, including shared vacations, etc. As I've mentioned here before, my mom was only 38 when she died. A lot of people were stunned. I'd love to know what happened to my cousin Beth, Buddy's beautiful daughter with his first wife. She was a few years older than I. I haven't seen her since childhood. Incidentally, I think his first wife was the "drunken" woman seen in the picture with the piano player, if anyone remembers that one.

The Char Siu came out incredibly delicious looking, I would love the recipe. When I make it, it's usually from a powdered mix at the Asian grocery store. The meat comes out radioactive red from the food dyes and the taste is rather meh. If you make it again save some to make steamed Chinese pork stuffed buns aka char siu bao. " Thank you. The Asian platter was bought cheap because it is chipped. The char siu recipe is a typical recipe. Except I don't use red coloring. The sous vide makes it kind of pink anyway. I sometimes add a little balsamic vinegar in the marinate. I never seem to have leftovers for bao. LOL. No, I don't have a blog or WEB page. Haven't had the time at this point. Pidget, you have a beautiful family! I can't believe how much everyone has grown, and how much Samantha reminds me of YOU!

I like Summer's clown, too. Must be the cool hair! Thanks so much for the pics, Erin. It's been WAY too long since we've seen the kids.

Kath, Janson is going to Penn State for Psychology/premed and Cason is going to a technical institute called Stevens Tech for Network Engineering.

I'm still in school. I'm working full time as a nurse but I'm in school for my BSN. My husband actually just started nursing school which is a completely different career for him but he's on the Dean's list for his first semester.

Erin, they're all so grown up, and absolutely gorgeous! What a beautiful family you have. I can't get over how confident and self-assured Samantha looks. Congrats to her - what an amazing accomplishment!
