I need to order some, too. Last time, the cheapest was the website on my reorder form. At one time I had ordered them from Current, but I haven't done that in years. I don't know if you can get less than 200 without paying more for a special order. That is usually the minimum (sp).

I believe it was more reasonable than buying through the bank

I get mine from Styles Checks (www.styleschecks.com). They always have special offers for new customers. With my most recent order I took advantage of one of their other promotions plus I used a coupon from retailmenot.com. I ended up getting an very large discount.

Check with Walmart.com, American Express, Costco, not sure about Sam's Club. I think for just plain colored ones not too expensive. Another thought, DD makes her own --check Staples or Office max for the program and I think Quicken has a program also.

I have used Wal-Mart checks for several years and have never had a problem. One box plain is $5.96.

My bank uses Harland Clarke and I order directly from there (HC). Checks for two accounts are free, I have to pay something in the neighborhood of $25 for my business checks though. That order last more than a year.

I'd had the same bank for a couple of decades and the fees for everything including safety deposit box made a huge jump all at once. The first time I paid for my household checks was the last time I banked there, I moved everything to a different bank and have been happy there for over 10 years now.

It's a friendly, welcoming atmosphere - they know both of us by name. May not hurt that my BIL is chairman of the board :) but that has nothing to do with the cost of my checks.

I also get them at no additional charge from the bank.

checksforless.com is another reliable source.

ChecksUnlimited. I think you have to order 200 at a time and they last me several years. I use my debit card for most purchases.

I get mine free from my bank. I seldom write checks though. I don't pay the bills.

I had been using checksunlimited but the price has been going up, now I get them from Walmart.com for around $6 a box best price I can find other than free, some banks do provide them free so check that first.

I asked this forum the same thing a year or so ago. Several people suggested Walmart.com, so I comparison-shopped a few places and Walmart was the lowest price. The quality is fine, there were no printing errors and they were shipped quickly. I still have a handful of bills that I need to write checks for (for example, my dogwalker, and my mortgage check -- the company is several states away, and I didn't want to open an account with them so they could do automatic withdrawal.)

so funny this was posted! i made the last order ever for check from unlimited...it was a whopping $60 for 2 boxes! yes, they are a pretty floral, and yes signed up for the check protection...but yikes had NEVER paid that much in the past...just picked up the info from costco, today...

I prefer getting my checks through my bank because my account number and the bank's routing number are on the checks. These are two numbers I do not want spread around. Normal charge is in the $25 range, but my bank will provide the checks free if the average amount in the account is above a certain minimum. We have 3 other banking competitors in our small town, and I suppose this helps.
