OMG, LOL, I meant "orders fouled up," instead of "orders fowled up." Well, fouled/fowled isn't exactly what I meant either, but I am trying to be ladylike.

alright, if misery loves company. In a nutshell I spent most of last night trying to transfer 503 pictures to my shutterfly account but it seems my old Kodak format doesn't submit to their format. I finally break down tonight to using the Kodak photo Gallery to have my photo's processed on line even though I have 400 prepaid photos at Shutterfly. Tonight my order is uploading without a problem and I make dinner, help with homework, nap on a chair during the debates. After waiting several hours , I suspect my order is done (last check it was 20 mins), only to find out they have cancelled my 503 print order. GGGGrrrrrrrr , I 'm unhappy with Kodak and am in the process of updating my photo software. NOW my photos seem to be stuck in my pc with no one to process them and I'm having a mini fit thinking how many hours it will take to look each photo up and transfer it to my documents(or where ever they go) I'm so not wanting to spend another minute on it!!!
Well, rant over, it's time to move on.

Sorry about your blinds, I have been through the wonderful world of home building myself and could tell you all sorts of stories. We have about a dozen beautiful oak and maple cabinet fronts in our basement because Thomasville can't read their paper work. Eventually we did get what we wanted. Thankfully.

Ow! I'd be beyond furious about the photos! I'm just having a low-to-mid-level hormone rage over the blind.

Next rant? Take your gloves off, ladies; vent it all here. We can't be sweet and placid all the time; sometimes we have to express ourselves! LOL

Caroline, I was very unhappy with the service we got when ordering blinds from JCP 5 years ago. Prior to that, we had great experiences. Sorry you've had to deal with problems, too. And yes...do check receipts! We've been finding quite a few errors lately.

I hope your new blinds come quickly...and are the ones you want!

I need to vent!!! August 16th, Sat., I won a 42" Toshiba flat screen TV at a hospital benefit drawing. Still don't have it!
The on/off switch didn't work right. It wouldn't stay shut off. You would have to unplug it withing 6 seconds to keep it off, so we didn't take it home. The guy who provided the TV had the warranty and called Toshiba for the part. It's backordered. Also, the part (panel) has to be installed by a business that does their warranty work....150 miles away. We're in the sticks, too.
Finally, the part comes and they come to our town and install it on Sept. 23rd. It still doesn't work.
So, the techs call Toshiba and find that it needs a bigger panel replaced (probably), but Toshiba will send another TV since it is a charity event.
Please don't think Toshiba is responsible for this mess. The guy who provided it got it online. I don't know what the hospital board paid for it, but it's a 2007 model and probably a refurbished one. The one that's coming is probably a refurbished one, too, which will be fine...if it works! It's funny, though, that the guy who provided it and the hospital board who paid for it, didn't know it was a 2007 model. I found it on the Toshiba website under "Archived Models"!
The kicker is that I gave our living room TV to our DD on August 17th, the day after I won the flat screen. So, I finally took my 13" kitchen TV into the living room and that's what we're watching in there. Now, we get a call from DD the other day...and they bought a 60" Plasma!!! So, my living room TV is now their extra TV. And....a friend said we could use their extra 13" TV in our kitchen a week ago Sunday...and she still hasn't brought it over either!!!

Whew! I've been pouting and whining since August 16th and it's getting very tiring...LOL!!!

Not a rant, but a warning.

If you live in the county, outside city limits- pay attention. If you go to a box store to buy something to be delivered and they ask for your zip code, be warned! You are about to be charged sales tax, city sales tax, for the city that has that zip code, even though YOU don't live IN the city.

It happened to us at a box store that starts with an L. Other letters are owe's. lol Anyway, after we finally got our receipt (we had conducted the finilazation over the phone) we noticed an extra $59 for the city near us. Well, we are 12 miles from that city, we get no benefits from that city, we aren't about to pay them taxes they don't legally deserve. So Woody called them and asked them for a refund, they said no. He went up and up the chain of command and even drafted a letter with our lawyer friend, offering to make this news public so a lovely class action suit could be brought. Because if this happened to US, it's happened to every other household out here, and where our zipcode comes from there are thousands of homes where delivery is common, every day. FINALLY the manager had a person give us the refund, but they didn't know how to do it right, they had to make it look like the product cost $59 less, they had no override for the tax code.

So my boss just bought a new fridge there. He has the same zip as we do, he also lives outside the city limits, amongst the 1000 homes. He told them not to charge HIM the city sales tax and he said it took an hour to get that detail corrected. Someone really needs to make this overcharging of sales tax public and make it an issue. Maybe we should call our State's Attorney General. That's an idea.

Anyway- there's your heads up for box stores.

Let's see, before I get to my minor rant of the week...

As to Penney's Blinds--what a shame you had such a terrible experience. I purchased custom-made blinds from them about 5-6 years ago, and was (and still am) delighted with them. Got exactly what I wanted, the size was right, and they've held up well. Hope you eventually get things sorted out and are happy with your purchase.

The tax situation? Our state works differently--we have urban enterprise zones (my new house is in one) where the sales tax is half that of other areas. The system is set up to encourage people to come from other areas to shop there, to boost their economy--I've never had a problem with them charging me the regular sales tax, and even before we bought a home here, we frequently came down to shop and save a few $$$.

Okay, my 'rant of the week'. I ordered a few packs of buttons last week from an online place (although I called to place my order). Small little sale--under $10 before the shipping costs. Well, the gal on the phone repeated EVERYTHING I told her except my zip code. I didn't think anything of it, she got the rest correct. Well, when I got home Sunday, checked my e-mails and found my order confirmation, guess what? Yep, she's transposed a few #'s on my zip. I e-mailed (Sunday night) and called (Monday morning--got an answering machine), but apparently they don't bother checking those things, they just barge right ahead with filling their orders, so by the time I got hold of anyone who could actually respond, they'd sent the package with the wrong zip. They're apparently unconcerned about it--they think the post office will notice the error when they scan the package.... Well, hope so, but I'm guessing it's going to slow down the delivery, and I was really hoping they'd arrive today--they're something I need desparately for a project I'm working on at the new house and I'll be leaving for there tomorrow morning.
