Where do you order your checks from?

My last order was through Checkworks; I don't know why, must've had one of those coupons that you see in the coupon inserts in the Sunday newspaper. Service was fine, no printing issues or anything.

I don't write as many checks as I once did, because the majority of my bills are paid over the Internet now. Keeps me from having to buy a lot of stamps, too! And I've never ordered through the bank after the first box or two I had to get through it when I've opened a new checking account -- wayyy too expensive!

Thought I'd just do a quick Web search of other check printers, for single personal checks (meaning, not duplicates).

Pretty sure I've used Checks Unlimited in the past, but they seem to be more costly, and for fewer checks per box (125; most others are 150).

Costco is more economical, but I don't need so many (250 per box).

What service have you used?

Anybody get them through WalMart??

I have used Wal-Mart.com several times and have always had fast service and no problems.

I get mine through Walmart now that I've exhausted all the 'first time order specials' through the other check places.
Have had no problems with the Walmart checks or service.

Jeanette, I am going to assume that you live in the Indianapolis area. It might be good if you could visit some in your area. Sometimes the daylilies on the websites can look quite a bit different than in person, and it also gives you an idea of what the foliage and branching habits look like if you're into that sort of thing. I have never ordered or been to any other place except the one here in southern Indiana called Lakeside Daylilies, so I don't have any experience with any other place. Don't get me wrong - we adore Peet's, but their specialty has always been dark-roasted coffees. We get the French or Italian in a just-up-from-powdered-Turkish grind, brewed through Chemex filters. I long ago broke the Chemex glass pot and realized it's the filters and the cone shape that make the difference. A cheap plastic cone works just as well, but the Chemex bonded filters are a must. Compare side-by-side with a paper filter and you can tell the difference immediately. We filter into a vaccuum pot if we're not going to drink it right away; it holds it very well for about 4-5 hours. On the Left Coast we are passionate about coffee and Starbucks fans are regarded with smirks. As you enjoy medium roasts with a lower acidity than dark roasted coffees - and many people do, I do myself on occasion - I'm wondering if you have tried the national brands of Chock Full o'Nuts (which ranked quite high in a Fine Cooking taste test a few years ago) and....Dunkin' Donuts. DD is making big ripples in the San Francisco Bay Area with a report by a Millennial blogsite that was just published yesterday. They included DD for a joke in a taste test against three of the highest-regarded new artisanal coffee roasters (so new they are post-Blue Bottle, who has gone from coffee cart to Establishment specialty in less than 3 yrs). DD came in second - no small feat! I've had all three artisanal coffees, and they're very good indeed. The short column from Eater SF is linked below. I've never ordered from them, but I've ordered checks from several other online suppliers. All of them seem to offer special discounts for first-time buyers, which is why I've jumped around. All of them have a huge selection of checks, including lots of animals. My current checks are "Paisley" from the Styles Check Company, and I'm very happy with them. Susan

I haven't used the Iris Patch (new to me) but I have ordered from BlueJ and Aitken's Salmon Creek. Both sent nice looking rhizomes but more importantly they were as marked! The size of the rhizome does not predict a healthier plant. I used to order from a place in the midwest that sent rhizomes the size of your little finger and they were great. He's now retired. I just reorder them from whoever printed them when I got them from the bank. I don't write many checks now either.

My bank used to be free but now charges. I only order 50 at a time, that lasts a couple of years. My bills are paid by auto draft. I write one check a month except for insurance and tax time and an occasional service call.

I got 500 checks free from my bank when I opened my account 4yrs ago, and I still have 481 checks...I do not see me ordering checks any time soon, but if I do I will get them from my bank free.......LOL

checks unlimited, have used various ones but been using them for a few years now. I don't use that many checks since I do most of my payments by bank online.

i still use checks unlimited...order 2 boxes...i stil write checks for bills...know it sounds silly but just do...and i love dupe checks...

Another advantage of being a senior . . . free checks. All routine bills are paid online; I write a few as birthday and Christmas gifts, one a month here at the retirement center for maintenance. That's it I think.

I'll probably never use all the checks I was given the last time I changed banks, about 4 years ago.

I get a box of checks for free from our bank every time I am nearing the bottom of the box. There is an order form in that last packet of checks, and I just take it to the bank. Within a few days, another box of checks arrives in the mail. I pay all of our bills by check. I refuse to do online banking and allow anyone access to our account.

I write very few checks. Pay most everything through my bank online. I usually use Checks Unlimited.

I've used the Sunday paper insert places. Don't have need for a check printer anymore though. I last got them from the bank and will reorder through there if I need more, but I'm sure I won't. My last box cost about $4 for shipping and no charge for printing. Actually I got two boxes for that price since they goofed and started the checks at 1000 rather than 10000 as I ordered so I got the reprint free of course and the bank manager said to keep (and use if I want) the "error" checks. Which I did and will if I need more.

I had to take a look at the last checks written in about the last year. Two to the plumber last September. One to the guy who shoveled for me this past winter and 3 medical bills that weren't set up yet in the electronic payment.

I'll probably have checks left for my estate to use.

I LOVE Colorful Images, they give you so many choices to choose from, carbon copy or not, all different types of formats from regular books to a notebook type thing that has 3-4 checks per page.

I just found some with great graphics that I love and I change it up every once in a while. They also have matching labels, checkbook covers, stationery. etc.

Their prices are so reasonable and I have ordered from them for over 9 years now and have never had a problem with fraud.

Those problems in life!

Quite a few things are free or lower-priced in this rea, but not cheques, in mostplaces ... even credit union was charging. But I think that I got an order of cheques free from one credit union a while ago.

OJ, you slay me!

Checks are free at our credit union--probably because we're old. Some things I have taken out of our checking account and some I put on credit cards just to keep them active. Others, I pay by check.
