Okay I thought I posted this once, but can't find it...

Last year someone posted a recipe for Iced Coffee that people raved about! Does anyone still have it?

I am not sure if this is the one, but Terri PacNW posted about this and I have made it countless times and everyone that has tried it (at the KT and IRL) love it!!!
I just made a gallon of it for a family get together this past week-end and they all thought it was awesome!

I just made a very simple "iced" coffee recipe to go with breakfast
this morning...You could certainly pour it over ice in the blender and make
a frozen coffee.
8-10 cups of strong fresh brewed coffee
1 can of sweetened condensed milk (low fat, fat free..whatever)
Blend, chill..pour over ice...

I like that recipe. Sometimes I add a little vanilla and sprinkle it with cinnamon.

We normally drink a local brand, Peet's, selecting the Italian Roast (a lot stronger and more bitter than French Roast) and have it preground in a #2 grind, which is one small step above powder (Turkish). A standard drip grind is #6 and espresso is #4, for comparison. We do a Melitta drip with Melitta woven filters, which make a much better brew than standard paper filters. For iced coffee, we do a double-strength brew: make our usual coffee, then immediately use it to pour through a fresh batch of grounds. DH grew up in Hong Kong so he prefers the taste of sweetened condensed milk in iced tea and coffee drinks. If we make a large batch, we chill it in the frig for a few hours so that no ice cubes dilute it. But if we're desperate, a few ice cubes in a glass chill it quickly, and this brew is so strong, a 1/4 cup of water is barely noticeable in a tall glass. Chocolate syrup is a nice addition, except you have to add extra for it to make any impact on what is basically a triple-strength espresso drink. Unbelievably, my DH can drink this right before going to bed and drop off to sleep like a baby....yeah, I'm jealous of that!

Here are two recipes for sugar free sweetened condensed milk: MYO Sugar Free Sweetened condensed milk Ingredients: 1 1/3 cup Nonfat dry milk powder 1/2 cup water 1/2 cup splenda Directions: In glass measuring cup stir together milk powder & water till it's a paste. Cover and microwave on high for 45 seconds or until hot but not boiling. Stir in Splenda. Recipe #2 Ingredients: 1 can (12 ounce size) evaporated skimmed milk 1 1/2 cup nonfat dry milk powder 1/2 cup Splenda Directions: Combine in a large bowl. Mix thouroughly. Chill. Keeps up to a week. This recipe for Sugar-Free Sweetened Condensed Milk serves/makes 3.5 cups

Isn't it awesome??? I've made it I think 3 times now! Yep I am a piggy and I drank all 3 pitchers of it myself!!!! Well, I did give DD a taste of it last weekend and right now there is a glass poured and sitting here beside me. Terri-PacNW posted it. I often enjoy an iced coffee in the late afternoon while watching the news. But I don't use any special "recipe". I wonder how much difference a recipe would make? I use a dark roast coffee (various brands, like to try different ones) and brew it pretty strong. I have a cup or 2 in the morning, hot, with just non-dairy powdered creamer, unflavored. I do not want any sweetener or flavoring of any kind in my morning coffee! That morning coffee is used for my PM iced coffee. Put it in a tall glass, add cold, flavored creamer, add ice and enjoy. My favorite creamer is International Delight, various flavors, but Amaretto is my favorite. I had been buying the Starbuck's bottled Frappuccino in the grocery store, but they are fairly expensive. Then I finally got the idea of making it at home. Much cheaper and so many more flavors available. Rusty

I posted about "Cold Brew" iced coffee last year. I am still making it and its good.

I add some flavored creamer to mine and sweeten it with sugar water. (boil equal parts sugar & water, for a liquid sugar)

Joann, I've been making my coffee that way for years! I especially like the low-acidity. Some of my friends who could not longer drink coffee because of the acid, could enjoy mine.
