Absolutely! I don't care if nothing else gets done that day...if the bed's made, everythng just seems to have "order"...oh, I thought of something else...all dishes need to be washed and put away or at least in the dishwasher.

I try to, but sometimes I don't even try. I read somewhere that it only takes 2 minutes to make a bed and when I read that I timed myself and it was right, so I have no excuse when I leave it unmade. I feel rather down when I pass the bedroom with the unmade bed, but sometimes I avert my eyes, LOL. However I do feel better when it is made.

I started about 10 years ago, and now I always make it. It's just a quilt on top of the sheets and blankets, so nothing special, but it makes me feel better. I also have cats, and I like that the sheets don't get covered with hair.

While I am still in bed, I lay in the middle and pull all the blankets tight...then get out and straighten it out a bit more and it is done! ....unless there are 3 cats that are laying on top..then it just get pulled up as good as possible. (no one is allowed under the sheets) I have a sheet over the top of the comforter to keep it clean..then it just gets washed every few days, esp. now with them shedding so bad!!

Yep! I don't think it takes me even two minutes and really does make the room look alot better.

I make the bed, but I "have" to wait until Lottie decides to get up! She doesn't crawl under the covers, just stays on the bottom sheet, sometimes with her head on the pillow.

Redcurls, my DM told us to always make the beds, because as you said, if the beds are made, everything else looks good.

I am guilty of leaving dishes in the dishwasher after they are washed. And gasp! sometimes a few in the sink.

Never. :) Unless company is coming over, I don't make my bed until I'm about to get in it again. I guess I just don't usually see the point.

Yup, kind of like Sandy does. While still in it, I'm on one side and pull up the other side. Then roll out of bed, go to the bathroom, and come back and do the other side. That is about the only thing I feel I must do everyday.

Every morning...It's usually the first chore that I do. I can't imagine getting through the day knowing that while I am puttering around the house, my bedroom is still a mess. When I worked I tried to keep my place neat and while I didn't have time, need or want to do things like vac every day or dust, the one thing I could do is make my bed and it made me feel like my place was neat and orderly.

I always make the bed up before I even leave the bedroom in the morning. Maxwell, my old man kitty lays in the middle of the bed as I am trying to make it. He just lays there and smiles at me as I try to pull everything in order with his little booty in the middle!!
At night, Mr. Glory Hole sleeps in DH arm pit..LOL or down on his feet. For such a little fellow he sure makes a lot of body heat!

That's one of the first things I do in the morning. And when I leave, I shut the bedroom door so no dogs get in there and get it all hairy while I'm gone.

Yes, I make my bed daily. Last thing I do after I get dressed for the day.

I do what Sandy does!My spread is a quilt.I just pull everything up over the pillows and put the shams on top of that.Takes less than 2 minutes.LOL Can't stand to look at an unmade bed during the day.

Yes, I have to make my bed every morning or I just can't seem to get with it. There's something about having a nicely made bed that just seems to add an air of organization to the entire house.

Yes, I do it every day no matter what. I go to the bathroom brush my teeth, get dressed and make the bed in that order. THEN I take the dogs out. No matter how sick I am, or if my back is out- the bed gets made. I feel better that way.

I am up before DH every morning, have my coffee, when I hear he is in shower, I make the bed, and usually lay his clothes out for the day on the bed( yes, he is very spoiled) this has been my rountine since I was first married.

Yes, I do. I like to see my room as nice as possible, when I go in there later in the day. Bed made = nice. ;)

If I don't make it before I leave the bedroom it doesn't get made. So yes I do, but after 3 months or so of not being able to pull the covers in place I have developed the bad habit of not making it. I may have to put up a big sign MAKE THE BED! You can see my bed when you walk into the house if the bedroom door is open and it always is.

I am so glad to hear about all y'all having cats/dogs on the bed! I make our bed every morning, sometimes at 6:15, sometimes at 9 am, depending on when our cat Feliz feels she wants to get up. If I have a schedule for the day I actually pick her up, put her in her basket, and make the bed. Then, I go get her and put her back on the bed. I'd appreciate it if you didn't share my little secret with anyone else.

Yes, always. Like others said I make it up pretty much before getting out then straightening it up when I'm up.

Yes, I do that as soon as my feet hit the floor. There are also two cats on my bed, but they don't seem to mind when I pull the bedcovering.

I make the bed every day. It takes about three minutes for hot water to start coming out of the shower head, so I use those three mins to make the bed. Bed done. Shower hot.

I absolutely make it every morning - couldn't start anything else until I make my bed - I let it air for an hour or so while I get dressed, play on the computer and drink my coffee, then make the bed and start my day.

Always - I can't stand getting into a rumpled bed at night. I make it about 10 minutes after I get up.

Jodi, why does it take so long for the water to get hot out of your shower? Do you have a tankless water heater, that's far from your bathroom? Just curious....

Our home is on a slab of concrete. The water pipes are embedded in the concrete. The hot water heater is in the garage at the front of the house. The kitchen and bathrooms are in the back of the house. It apparently takes almost 3 mins for the hot water to travel through the cool pipes and offer up hot water at the other end (and no, we do not live in a large home). It's this way for all of our neighbors as well. We looked into a tankless system in the attic above the back of the house but the cost could not be justified by either or us.

The minute I get up I am making my bed. When Jammer is home I make up my side as soon as I get up and then he makes his side when he gets up.

Yes, now that I'm retired I can't stand to look at an unmade bed. However, when I was working it didn't bother me one bit to go off and leave it unmade.

No. I used to make it at various times in my adult life. I tried earlier this year to get in the habit of making it but that didn't last long. I just keep the door shut if someone is coming over. I did make it a couple of weeks ago when my handyman was coming over to install my window A/C in my room. I usually take a nap at some time during the day so I can't see the point in making my bed.

No. Actually, if I am sleeping alone, I don't mess up the covers. My husband rolls up in them like an enchilada tho.

Most days I make my bed as I like to see the room look pretty but, if I have an early appt. and my husband is still sleeping, I may never get to make it that day. It actually bothers me to see my room look the least bit messy. I've relaxed a bit as I got older but still have the compulsion to keep every thing neat. It keeps me active lol.

Only if company is coming over. I have a beautiful comforter set but it's too heavy to sleep under so I store it in the closet. My 2 dogs sleep in bed & I don't want dog hair on the comforter. I'm single and only in the bedroom to sleep. If I had to see it all day I would make it.

It seems a lot of us have those fur babies that like to sleep in....Making the bed used to be the 1st thing I did but now, it's after I make that trip to the bathroom...Of course there's always a cat or 2 to move around....Just last week, I didn't have the heart to remove a sleeping feline and left the house...I told my DD, that really bothered me...She said not to worry, if anything happened to me, she'd make sure the bed got made before anyone got in the house....Special, isn't she???

My DH makes the bed when he gets up. He usually sleeps 2 or 3 hours later than I do. I hate a messy bed.
