Well I was going to have a pot roast and a new recipe, a Banana Cream Pie from a site I just found last night. It looks fabulous. BUUUTTT, as I just started heating the oven to stick the roast in, and was crunching the graham crackers for the pie, I heard a loud POP noise, and looked at the oven and saw it glowing red and sparks flying on the inside. Opened it up, and my element at the bottom of my oven was bright red and sparking, ready to catch fire. So we grilled out and had BBQ chicken, macaroni salad, garden salad, and green beans. My youngest DB invited my parents and all of us over to his house for a Father's Day bbq. So we just went over there. I usually do get my DH, Dad and FIL a gift. My FIL knows his will be late every year anyway since we have to ship it and I'm not as organized as I wish I was. We are getting him some Clint Eastwood movies that he likes. Gave my dad some cologne. Got DH cologne too and took him out to eat at Texas Roadhouse Saturday night. Sounds like ya'll had a good day. I have got to get my painting area organized. I've got too many projects looking me in the face when I go in there and I think it's overwhelming me too much. I think if I only leave 2 out I'll be able to finish those and move on. Hope you get that shed finished. Sounds like a big job. We are taking out our old chain link fence in prep for the new fence. The people who put in the old posts concreted the poles in with 3 feet of concrete! we have had a terrible time getting them out and now there is a section connected to our neighbors drive that is concreted all the way across that we'll have to bust up. I've been trying to help DH, but I'm not too muscular so it's really falling on him to do most of it. Good news is only a few more weeks until the new fence goes in!! We are really getting excited. I've got to get DD ready to go on a church youth trip so been running around trying to get her things together. Got to go do a little shopping today to finish up. DS has to build some kind of box car for a Scout thing next week and we haven't started on that. You know how it is, just one thing after the other with these kids and their activities. Guess I'd better get up from here and get started on something. ~Anj

Kelly, I think the table would look much better on my porch. :) Those are perfect color combinations too. It won't get rained on will it? I have two recent spots in my home. Now that the sun is shining through the windows again I love looking at my utility room in the afternoons. It also makes a nice plant hospital for the other plants in my house in case they get sick. Not a good picture because of the shadows on the shutters. They look really dark in this picture, but they're a light cream. Below is the lamp I bought specifically for the sofa table, but stupid me forgot how dark shades give off poor light, even though this is a 3-way. But the lamp found a new home in a small corner in the living room and it's perfect there. The area really highlights the embroidery on the shade. You can't tell from this picture but the two walls are only about 3 feet wide, which makes it a fun and difficult spot to decorate.

Yes, I cooked for Elery and for my son in law, Dave. My other SIL, Kevin, had to work. We had Dave and the kids over for breakfast and I made his favorite, blueberry muffins, as well as pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage AND bacon. Dinner was barbecued ribs, baked beans, garlic rolls, roasted potatoes, sauteed corn. I made a gluten free chocolate pie with the pudding type filling from scratch, and a southern strawberry cobbler for Elery with fresh local strawberries, which were beautiful and sweet, almost a shame to cook them, but it's one of his favorites and we only get really good local berries once a year.
