Drawer pull placement on shaker style drawers
Comments (13)I did shaker fronts on all areas 9" or taller, and slabs on the rest. I thought full shaker would look too busy since I have some small drawers. We have cup pulls on all drawers and knobs on all doors. Here's where I get stupid. :) (Not really, we're building and don't move in until this week and exact placement of hardware is eluding me right now...) I think our cup pulls are centered on slab fronts and rail-mounted on shaker fronts. I have some pics at home and will be happy to share this evening if you're interested. Now it's bugging me that I can't remember!...See Morewhere to place pulls on drawer fronts, centered or not?
Comments (33)Two Pulls vs One Pull...It's been almost 6 years and even though I frequently use just one pull to open a drawer, I have only had to adjust a couple of drawers once or twice - and all I did was release the glides, push the drawer back in completely, and I was done (Blumotion glides). The majority of the drawers have had no issues at all in 6 years. The ones I've adjusted: the top drawer under my cooktop (36" wide) and the middle drawer in my 33" cabinet (Tupperware storage) - no other drawers have needed adjustment in 5+ years. Even if they all eventually need adjustment, it's so rare that it's a non-issue and, to me, two pulls look much better in a traditional or transitional kitchen. I think one pull, though, would look better in a "modern" kitchen. Vertical Alignment...Keep in mind that trying to adjust for perspective is a somewhat futile effort. Perspective varies depending on how tall the observer is! Someone 6' tall will have a different perspective than someone 5' tall. You would need to have adjustable pulls to make them "look" centered for everyone. I would either center them or do what ChefKev did - that way they are consistent and look "right" regardless of who is observing the drawers and their pulls. That said, this is so TKO!!!...See Morebin pulls on 5 piece drawer fronts? any pics?
Comments (2)I put mine on the upper rail, so, not where you have in mind. I didn't want to jam up my fingers trying to open the drawers, but I also just wanted them higher. Oh, and I have four drawer fronts that are glass inside the stiles and rails so those obviously had to go higher. I can take a pic if you want, but I don't think that's what you are after, am I right?!...See MoreAny rules of how the pulls are placed on the cabinet door/drawer?
Comments (8)I have a pulls that are similar in style to the ones you are using. My doors are not slab but if they were I think I still would have put the pulls in the same location. The bottom edge of my upper door pulls is 2" from the bottom edge of the cabinet door. (on my base doors the top edge of the pull is 2" from the top edge of the cabinet door. Here is a visual of the uppers for you: Since I personally don't care for the look of pulls in the middle of the drawer, I had my pulls mounted near the top on both the slab drawers and five piece drawers. The pulls are one inch fro the top edge of the drawers. Here's how that configuration looks: If you do a google search with the terms gardenweb and pull placement you should be able to find lots of previous posts with pictures and opinions. As you will see there is no rule. All you need to do is decide the look you like....See Moreformerlyflorantha
