Sektion question related to pull placement on drawer fronts.
Comments (16)The stainless steel attaches differently from all of the others. I compared the installation pdfs, and all of the fronts - like yours - are placed squarely on the front. The stainless steel - probably due to the weight - is bracketed over and around the sides. So it poses a problem on the inside of the drawer. The panel bracket is shorter than the BLANKETT overhang (for lack of a better description) but the BLANKETT pull still has to fit over the stainless bracket, and it just doesn't work. I just received an email from IKEA customer service and they said BLANKETT pulls don't work with SEKTION at all. Now, that is a lie, because yours work perfectly! So, I am in one of the IKEA nightmares I have heard about. I will take your suggestion to my contractor. Hopefully it will work. I read in another post that someone did that to their 15" BLANKETT pulls....See MoreHow to install cabinet pulls in center of shaker drawer?
Comments (4)I don't have a clue about how to best install the pulls, but wanted to mention it's a good idea to mock it up first. Pulls centred on drawers tend to look like they are "off" (too low) because you are looking down on them. Try placing them in the top third of the centre panel rather than right in the middle of the panel....See MoreDrawer pulls placement on shaker style fronts - help!
Comments (6)There is also a consideration of leverage and reach. It's easier to reach higher to the hardware on the lower drawers, and it's also easier to pull a large drawer open front the top rather than the center. Many other template examples would show placing pulls on the top rail of the frame of the door for these reasons if possible. Here is an example of such placement on cabinetry from the luxury company William Ohs....See MoreIs it a code violation to place a chest of drawers in front of a close
Comments (3)I assume the closet is a dead end, no window either? I doubt there's any code restrictions on that. Although I do have one closet that provides attic access in case of fire (for firemen to put out anything that could start up there)... in a situation like that, blocking that closet door would violate code....See More- 15 years ago
