Our dishwasher came with 2 types of brackets. 1 type to mount to the top of the dishwasher to secure to the counter top and 1 type to mount to the side of the dishwasher and secure to the side cabinets.

Your granite installer should've asked you where the dishwasher was going when he made the template for it.

Then he should have routered out the granite directly above the dishwasher and epoxy'd a wood strip in there for the dishwasher to screw into.

I'd be asking why he cut that corner.

Since he didn't do that, you should secure the dishwasher to the cabinets on either side. Your dishwasher should have strips to make this possible.

into the underside of the countertop material (what ever that material is -

canlawn - would both brackets come already attached to the washer? I only see one set of brackets on the top.

Kevin - great idea... can it be installed after the granite is in? I see the screws on top and sides.

The dishwasher came with the top ones attached and the side ones in the documentation package with details on how to install them. The bracket is screwed to the cabinet side pannel and with the dishwasher door open door open there's a hole in the side of the dishwasher where you put the screw through to secure it to the cabinet. Hope this makes sense.
I'd take a pic but, our dishwasher is out at the moment with the granite install comming next week.

Yes - the Dishwasher Mount - bracket - CAN be installed after the Granite
or any other countertop material is installed. There are mounting tabs
on the far ends of the bracket that allow for attaching the bracket to either
side o the cabinetry surrounding the D/W.

The last picture I posted shows the mounting tab turned down @ a 90 degree
angle - This would be about the only way I would think that the bracket
could be installed AFTER the countertops were installed..

The smaller "Cheese Grater Looking Holes" on the bracket are for the smaller
screws to seat into and lock in place when you go to attach the D/W to the
bracket....

this is such a cool little gadget - I am going to produce a quick video to share with folks so the can see how it works and how much time and effort can be saved
by using it... Plus - no more holes to drill!!!!

Great Advise re: Re; Dishwasher Mounts: (from my experience this year 2008: not one customer out of 3-5 per week has ever complained re: the dishwasher) (two issues last year 2007: DW door wouldn't shut and bracket came unglued once) I think the guys use Liquid Nails for glue. thank goodness:

Never drill holes in granite! LOL! for screws that is! it's Rock!

Canlawn - Contractor said side mount was not possible. Looked in manual for side mounts which were not included. Ordered them today at no cost from Frigidaire. Great! TY!

Kevin- I called Rob in Tennesee. Yes, the mount can be installed after the cabs by bending down tabs. Great product, thx for recommending. If the side mounts I ordered don't work out, I'll give it a try. Hope this info might help someone else who reads this thread one day.
